Counter-Strike: 4K announces UK roster; Mangiacapra returns

By: Mark Cheben - Published March 25, 2007 at 1:24 PM EST - Writer Archive
Four Kings has announced their new all UK lineup.
Four Kings slowly lost members over the past few months and were down to just one, Adam "AdY" Brown, before this announcement. Thomas "DaY" Rudstrøm and Joona "natu" Leppänen left the Kings in early Feburary and Keir "aKuJii" McCann, and Louis "Red`" Nyberg recently departed the team as well. The team also suffered disqualification from Extreme Masters and was nixed from the NGL One finals due to a 4K player 16 bitting in a match.

This return to a British based team marks the first time since 2003 that the Kings will have an all UK squad. In 2003, Four Kings added Harvey “Xenon” Migotti, the Swedish Quakeworld star and SK player, who was attending school in the United Kingdom and started the trend of 4K picking up Scandinavian talent.

Their new lineup marks the return of two original 4K members, Stuart Harriman and Marc Mangiacapra, who will join Adam "AdY" Brown as the experienced members of 4K. New blood has been added to the team in Thomas “toomy” Harries and Harvinder “dh” Rehinsi who played for landed/goldbrick and turtle respectively. Rehinsi played on the fake 4K team that trampled fnatic in Extreme Masters, which was later overturned. Ben Woodward, a manager with 4K, explained that 4K wanted a mixture of upcoming talent and experience.

“Marc and Stu have done it all, been to every event possible and have some top finishes between them, not bad for British csers!” said Woodward. “In all seriousness though, we fell the mix we assembled is just right. Two of our new players are basically unknown outside of the UK and have a lot to prove, although they are very well known in the UK.”

With ESWC and WCG qualifiers approaching the Four Kings have a tough road ahead. However,
Woodward is confident about this team's place in the UK and feels this mix will perform well.

“How will they perform internationally? Who knows,”said Woodward. “With an entirely new work ethic I'm hoping they'll be putting in the time to become the best UK cs team straight off the bounce, as far as internationally.. we'll have to wait and see. We have ESWC and WCG qualifiers over the coming months. Should we qualify for them we'll be giving said events a damn good showing!”

About Mangiacapra and Harriman back on 4K, Woodward had this to say:

“Marc and Stu back together? one word, awesome.”

This leaves 4K with the following roster:

United Kingdom Marc Mangiacapra
United Kingdom Stuart Harriman
United Kingdom Adam "AdY" Brown
United Kingdom Thomas “toomy” Harries
United Kingdom Harvinder “dh” Rehinsi
