Counter-Strike: LeX reacts to Sally ban

By: Luis Mira - Published May 07, 2007 at 4:44 PM UTC - Writer Archive
Virtus.Pro captain Alexey "LeX" Kolesnikov comes out in defence of his team mate Viktor "Sally" Filimonchenko.
Filimonchenko was sentenced a two-year ban from all ESL leagues, apparently for using a program that blocks Aequitas, the organisation's anti-cheating tool.

Kolesnikov believes that his team mate is innocent and that there are people behind this story that want the Russian e-Sports' image to be harmed.

"I think it is someone's desire to harm the Russian skills and by using sneaky tricks, some people hacked Viktor's Aequitas file," Kolesnikov told GotFrag.com.

Kolesnikov even expressed his doubts regarding the viability of the Aequitas program.

"If someone messed up Viktor's Aequitas file, it is a big shame for its stability, and I will try to find how to fix this situation."

Virtus.Pro will appeal to the ESL to investigate this situation and remove the ban from the player, in order to "discover the fair verdict."

Although nothing is certain yet, the Russian talent did not refuse the idea of not participating in the next ESL tournaments.

"We don't know what will happen, so as soon as it is possible, we will contact the ESL Head Admins to try to fix this problem, nothing is clear at the moment."

The complete statement given by Kolesnikov can be found on the next page.
