Turmoil showed that they had become one of the top teams in the US 1.6 scene after taking home second place at Buy.com earlier in the month. At that event, they sent fellow WCG US open participant x3o to the lower bracket after an exciting match on de_train. The team took their first loss in the upper bracket finals to eventual tournament winners, pandemic, in a double overtime heartbreaker. Online, turmoil won CEVO pro season 5, and is back again for season 6. They are ranked number three, behind pandemic and complexity, in GotFrag's NA Rankings.

After speaking to Matt Iantosca about their performance at Buy.com and looking ahead to this event, he had this to say:

"We've been practicing the last couple of days so we feel pretty prepared. It's hard to be completely prepared because theres not many 1.6 teams to play against anymore. I wouldn't say we are more prepared than we were at buy.com, but we learned our lessons and I feel we won't be blowing any matches as badly as we did last tournament. I don't see any reason why we should not win this tournament."

x3o is made up of players from both the Green Berets and Vigor. They attended the buy.com event earlier in the month, placing fourth behind iDemise, turmoil, and pandemic. x3o is currently ranked 8th in North America by Gotfrag, after finishing a dismal 1-12 for CEVO pro season 5. Since then, they have made some changes in their lineup, with LuckeyTed taking a well deserved break and hero filling in the missing fifth spot after pyrite's Houdiniesque departure before buy.com. Confidence is high with the new lineup, especially after winning the CEVO season 6 placement tournament. Team owner Nick Fitz personally proclaimed this year would be a big one for x3o, Babe Ruthing a number one finish for the team at the upcoming WSVG tournament.

Josh Springer was asked to comment about the upcoming event:

"I feel pretty good coming into this event as a team and player. We've got a lot of good online match experience with this roster because of the recent cevo pro placement tournament and currently the wsvg qualifier. This lineup is without 2 players from buy.com in Ted and pyrite but we've had better preparation and practice since and expect to have an impressive showing because of it. You always hope that better preparation will equate with better success so we're definitely shooting to win, and most of all, improve ourselves so we can perform better at wsvg and future tournaments."
