Counter-Strike: MiBR faces USA for PanAmerican title

By: Trevor Schmidt - Published June 23, 2007 at 3:42 PM EDT - Writer Archive
And then there were two.
Well really there was only two to start with at WCG Pan-American Games in Cancun, Mexico. Originally the field of Counter-Strike 1.6 teams was to consist of Brazil (MiBR), USA (eMg), Canada (Team EG) and México (Ironmen).

Team EG declined the invitation and decided to practice for Championship Games Series. Ironmen had trouble scheduling their plane tickets with the organizers causing them to stay home and not make the trip out to the Yucatan Peninsula. This left both the USA and Brazil.

America’s representative eMg decided to forgo attending Pan-American event in favor of going to WSVG Louisville so Darkside took their place. MiBR’s appearance here over WSVG Louisville left them and Darkside as the lone CS teams. The two teams will battle tomorrow (Sunday) at 5:00pm CST.

Update: Made in Brazil has won the WCG PanAm Championship over Darkside in a best-of-three series (2-0).
