Counter-Strike: Logitech.fi lands Kuppi

By: Luis Mira - Published August 09, 2007 at 7:44 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Team Logitech.fi has announced the addition of Janne "Kuppi" Kuparinen.
The 20-year-old player turned inactive in June last year, leaving Serious Gaming in order to complete his military service.

He has now been given a chance to fill the shoes of Samu “plastE” Aalto, who left the squad to join the Finnish rival, 69°N-28°E.

Despite his one-year inactivity, Kuparinen was seen playing for mix teams in a large number of local events during this period, and Logitech.fi believes him to be a good choice to strengthen the squad.

"He is very motivated to play on top again and he was clearly the best clanless player in Finland," Matti "SpikeOne" Jarvinen told GotFrag.com.

With Joona "natu" Leppanen being available for a transfer, the former 4Kings talent has been mooted as a possible target for Logitech.fi.

However, Jarvinen insists the team has made the right move in bringing Kuparinen.

"We thought Kuppi might fit better since he is a very good communicator and has a loud voice, which we have been missing on LAN games," he explained.

Logitech.fi recently finished in second place in the Finnish WCG qualifier, having lost the qualification for the international event to 69°N-28°E.

Jarvinen said his team to be "pretty disappointed" for not having qualified but believes it will mount a serious challenge in future tournaments.

Logitech.fi has now the following roster:

Finland Antti "Shiri" Makinen
Finland Matti "SpikeOne" Jarvinen
Finland Slaava "Twista" Rasanen
Finland Tino "tihOp" Puumala
Finland Janne "Kuppi" Kuparinen
