Who will be the next CPL Counter-Strike World Champion? The CPL is pleased to announce an update to the list of Counter-Strike World Champions. The list of Counter-Strike Champions dates back to 2000, when the CPL officially began hosting team-based tournaments. At the upcoming CPL Extreme Winter Championships, which take place December 18-22, the CPL will once again crown a Counter-Strike World Champion, but this time the final competition will take place between a Counter-Strike:Source team and a Counter-Strike 1.6 team. Wait it's called CS champion but actually they play CS and CS:Source? How does that make sense?
People should stop referring to Source as CS, it's simply wrong.
So let's break it down
EYE - 1st at CPL summer 2004 and 2nd at CPL winter 2004
NoA - 9-12th at CPL summer 2004 and 1st at CPL winter 2004.
No matter which way you want to measure it, assuming you do it objectively, EYE are the 2004 CS champions of CPL. Please inform Mike Allen that he should really lookover how he determined the 2004 CS champion. Otherwise though everything looks right to me.
Just one thing though. The CPL summer champion in 2002 was SK.sca(scandinavia despite a player from the UK). They actually won one of the major CPL events that year (Summer 2002). SK.sweden only placed 3rd at CPL winter 2002.
If you're going for some consistency, which you should be, GoL did the best in 2002 looking only at the major events (not cologne/oslo). GoL placed 2nd in summer and 2nd in winter.
An extremely foolish argument would be to say that CPL winter 2004 had more competition than CPL summer 2004. Infact, the opposite is true. SK.sweden did not attend CPL winter 2004, that alone is proof.
and strictly speaking 3D does NOT belong on that list. They placed 17th-24th at Summer CPL 2002, absolutely horrible. It doesn't really belong to SK(sweden) considering SK.sweden placed 3rd at CPL winter 2002.
Why is the CPL so foolish?
don't know why just winter
#5?
what? cpl does not accept international teams??
i guess they don't bother at all
the problem is that there aren't any international teams any more
Swedish domination.
Duh.
CPL fails.
yah iunno how many times the NoA players said, noa means noa, lmao...
And yup EYE got shafted.
i assume its both games but then each team would win in their game =/
they have 3 of the top 6 or 7 teams in the world. :P
