Counter-Strike: Five with Crypt1c

After coming in second place at the WCG U.S. Finals, adamm[box] had a few questions for Crypt1c to discuss Check-Six's performance and upcoming plans.
You guys had a strong run throughout the whole tournament. Explain what you think happened in the finals against eMg.

We started off very strong on de_nuke and were playing smart CS. Our teamwork was great at that point. On de_inferno we got off to a poor start, giving up CT pistol. From there, we missed some key frags that really prevented us from getting into our groove. We tried several different things to adjust to eMg’s style, but none of which seemed to do the trick. We gave a great effort on T side but came up short unfortunately. De_dust2 was somewhat of the same story. Losing both pistols and making errors on close rounds really cost us. We had some opportunities to turn it around, but we never seemed able to close out the rounds. We were very low on money due to those close rounds and that really hurt us. Overall, we seemed to lose our focus during the last two maps.

What are the teams’ plans for the future? Are you guys considering a transition to source?

We have been talking about venturing into source, but it is something that the whole team needs to discuss. We intend to talk about this much more together during the rest of our time here in Florida.

Are you guys satisfied with the team as a whole after this event? Or are you guys planning to make some changes in the upcoming weeks?

We were satisfied until de_inferno versus eMg. We practice very hard and any loss is disappointing. However, we look at those 2 losses as room for improvement. Other than improving our performances, there are no changes that need to be made at this point.

With CSpromod’s open beta release right around the corner, are you guys planning to test it out?

We haven’t really talked to Alex Garfield about it. It would be fun and interesting to test out, but until it is an official game I don’t think we will play it much.

How much of a difference has n0thing made on the team?

Jordan has been an impact player for us since Josh left team. Everyone knows how good his aim is and his ability to make big plays. We are working hard to incorporate that skill into our teamwork. He’s an important part of our team.

Any last remarks?

GG to eMg and all of the other teams we played here at WCG. It’s been a lot of fun.
