The Irish representatives for the 2007 World Cyber Games have been announced following a frantic final day of action at The Digital Hub in Dublin. Ireland will this year be represented at the World Cyber Games in three disciplines; Counter Strike 1.6, Project Gotham Racing 3 and FIFA Soccer '07. Although currently ranked 64th in the WCG rankings, Ireland will be hoping to improve on that this year with three strong competitors in Seattle. The WCG 2007 Finals will take place at the Qwest Field in Seattle on October 4th through 7th, giving the Irish team two solid weeks to prepare. Mark Kenny, aka Kinetic, will again represent Ireland in PGR3 after he overcame Jamie Barbour in a tense final and is looking strong ahead of his attempt to qualify for the Championship Gaming Series. Mike Traynor meanwhile proved he could transfer his skills from the Xbox360 to the PC after defeating Padraig O'Hara in the FIFA '07 finals. In Counter Strike 1.6, the heavy favorites Team Eugh didn't disappoint and booked their tickets to Seattle after dominating rivals Pong on de_dust2 in the finals. A 16-1 scoreline was a fair representation of the gulf in class between the two sides as experience told for Team Eugh. Featuring a mix of two of Ireland's most successful teams - suiGeneris and Wink - Eugh contains three members of the squad that represented Ireland at last year's WCG and will be looking to cause an upset in Seattle next month. Eugh have been placed in Group C alongside Norway (MYM), Belgium and Belarus among others. The following players will represent Ireland at the WCG 2007 Finals in Seattle.
