Counter-Strike: Behind the Gamer: Neo

Do you enjoy being in the spotlight? Does the amplified attention make it increasingly difficult for you and your team to perform well at major events? It didn't seem to faze you at ESWC.

To be honest I don't care that much about it. I would still be the same if I wouldn't be on top I think. I am just trying focus on the game itself. I hate doing i-views, it's boring! :P

How have your parents reacted over the years to your decision to become a cyber athlete? Did they try to stop you from following this path?

As I mentioned before, I've started playing CS together with my father. My mother wasn't happy at the beginning that we are spending so much time in front of the computer. But after winning some local LANs she got used to it. She even started playing some. Both of them support me very much at the moment. Same does my sister. I really thank them for doing that. I guess without them I wouldn't be where I am.

Do you have any helpful tips for the aspiring gamers out there? How could they improve their game to climb the competitive ladder?

It's hard to say. I've never asked other gamers for tips, I've always tried to improve my skills by myself. I think you shouldn't try playing like others, using their cfg's or their resolution or whatever. It does not make you better. Try finding your own playing style and don't give up because beginnings are always the hardest. ;)

DirecTV's Championship Gaming Series has just completed its inaugural season in North America and have plans to expand to several other regions around the world, including Europe. What are your views on the CGS? Do you think it will be successful in the European community?

To be honest I don't care about that. When CGS will expand to Europe I will start worrying. Now I'm focused on 1.6 and our goals right now.

Specifically focusing on CS, why do you think the majority of top 1.6 teams in Europe have decided against switching to Source for the purposes of competing in CGS?

I don't have so much fun playing Source as I have while playing 1.6. Maybe it's just the game itself, people enjoy more playing 1.6. In the states gamers moved to Source just because of CGS, and events on it. Personally I think it is bad, but maybe just because I don't like Source as much as I like the old, good 1.6.

How do you feel about your team having a poker sponsor? Do you think this encourages younger audiences to gamble when they shouldn't?

Having a poker sponsor doesn't mean you need to play poker. I don't like poker and I don't play it at all. I don't care that much about it since PokerStrategy.com is supporting so much that we can travel almost all over the world.

Thank you for your time. Do you have any final thoughts or shout outs?

I want to thank our sponsors and all the fans that support us.
