Counter-Strike: Hostile fills in for Lim

eMg calls in Hostile to take the place of Lim at the WCG Championships.
Yesterday, eMg announced that one of their players, Matthew "Lim" Beahan, had been hospitalized after suffering from a collapsed lung. At the time, the team was optimistic that Lim might be able to still travel to Seattle and play at the World Cyber Games Championships, which Lim helped them qualify for last month. Unsure if his release would happen in time for their group matches, eMg called in Shaun "Hostile" Catron to fill in for him until he was able to get to the event.

Unfortunately, Lim's doctors have advised him that any traveling at this point would be extremely detrimental to his condition, and the pressure changes which happen with air travel would exacerbate the injury and possible cause another collapse. That being said, Hostile will now be permanently filling in for Lim at WCG.

The team was hoping for the best, but were planning for the worst by immediately contacting Catron once they found out. They have been practicing and going over their strategies with him, as best as they can with the short amount of time left before the event starts. While many options for a ringer were available, eMg's friendship with Hostile out of game was the main driving force for him being picked, with the mentality being that if they can get along out of game, he should be able to fit in well in game.

Below is the statement issued by eMg's managment.

Emazing Gaming is sad to announce that Matthew “Lim” Beahan will be unable to attend the WCG Grand Finals this week. Matt suffered a collapsed lung on Monday night while boot camping in New York City with the rest of the team. Matt was admitted to a New York City hospital on Monday night and on Tuesday morning was instructed that he was not in a condition to travel.

“The team is obviously in a bit of shock right now. Matt (Lim) is probably the most disappointed of all. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope that his ailment will not cause him to miss future events,” said Matt Marcou, General Manager of Emazing Gaming.

Lim’s spot will be filled by Shaun “Hostile” Catron. Hostile was contacted on Monday evening and has been practicing with the core eMg roster since then.

“In our initial discussions about the situation, Hostile was the first player that came to mind as a substitute, “said Matt Marcou, “We’d like to thank him for his consideration and welcome him on board to represent the USA.”
