Canada (GotFrag) - Canada's Team Evil Geniuses has announced the addition of Jonathan "elude" Gilbert to the Counter Strike 1.6 squad, replacing Austin "cole" Townley. A familiar face to the old school CS crowd, Gilbert has played on a number of talented CS and CS:Source teams including his leadership of Team TEC. A proponent of Source in the early days, caught in the shuffle of which version to play, Gilbert's TEC was unable to reach great expectations. The former GotFrag writer will be taking the helm of the Canadian team with years of top level competitive experience in Counter Strike.

Gilbert will be the only American on the team when the squad faces Turmoil this week in CEVO Pro Season 7. The team is currently 1-1 in that league. EG has been looking for a replacement due to Townley's inactivity and are looking for a spark after a dismal performance at the WCG Grand Finals in Seattle earlier in the month. EG was knocked out of that tournament in group play.

Gilbert had this to say about his joining EG, on the official Team EG website, "I've been out of the game for a while, but something inside of me always wanted to come back and give it another try. I will always regret how TEC just faded away and never really accomplished its goals after I put over 5 years into the team. But that is all behind me now and I look forward to a promising future with Team EG.
