The Norwegian squad was one of the teams on show at the Extreme Masters qualification after defeating local giant Meet Your Makers to secure a place in the ESL league.

Fainted has been on the lookout for a new Counter-Strike team since the end of its squad in January and engaged in talks with Speed Of Light with an offer which will allow the team to improve, according to Thomas "Azid" Heltne.

"We got a better offer from the Fainted organisation, so the choice was simple," he said. "The Speed of Light organisation was great, but the new organisation will give us a lot more stuff and will make it a lot easier for us to focus on the game."

The new Fainted team should have its official LAN debut at the upcoming Dreamhack event. The team was drawn in a tough Group C at Extreme Masters, where it will have to play against teams like SK Gaming, roccat or competo.

Despite the heavy competition ahead, Heltne believes that his side has the potential to cause another upset and go far in these tournaments.

"We are kind of the underdogs in both tournaments, we expect to do better than our seed at DH (seed 13), and it would be great for us to advance the group stages in Extreme Masters."
