Cyberglobe Noah "StrikeR" Alvarado Charlie "publicenemy" Hartsook Jon "Heppler "Heppler Mike "CuZ" Nang Paul "Adrenaline" BakerComing off a fresh start as a team, they've been able to squeeze through the CEVO Placement event and secure a spot in the upcoming season. They struggled quite a bit during the tournament losing to Darkside in group play and having trouble with some of the lower tier teams. Following their first loss in double-elimination to iniquity 16-6, it wasn't looking good for them. They had to win two more matches to advance including West Coast Rockers and Guardians. After an easy defeat over wcR, they were able to pull a win over the new over-hyped team, Guardians; thus making them a contender in CEVO Pro Season 8. It's too soon to tell how this team will develop in the long run. They are all experienced utility fraggers and can get the job done if they put a little effort into practicing. A unnecessary loss can poise the team to lose faith but will need to hang tough to hold their ground. They experienced that feeling in the placement tournament already once after their huge loss to iniquity and I'm sure they don't want a repeat. Strengths: Aim. Most of these guys are great utility fraggers and can depend on one another to clutch an important round when it comes down to it. Still in the mist of building chemistry, they will have to rely on their strong points which is clutching the rounds that are needed the most. Weaknesses: Fresh of the boat. Only together about a month, they will have to step it up as the season progresses. They will encounter some losses to some of the lower tier teams but can't hold that against them as they need to work on some kinks. If they can juice up some more teamwork, I don't see this being a problem down the road. Recent Results: CEVO Pro Placement Qualifier Prediction Playoffs. They might run into some bumps along the way but should end up pulling off a playoff seat in the end. I don't see them beating X3O or eMg anytime soon without some work being done first. MNM placed the best they ever have in CEVO last season and would like to do even better the next time around. After their huge loss in the grand finals last season to X3O (Turmoil), they are back again but on yet another rocky road. The Texas crew has undergone quite a few roster changes in the past couple seasons to make it hard for the team to adapt. So far they currently have four core players who are still active and ready for the upcoming season. A fifth is always a hard choice and they will take their time on the move. Every time the MNM name has been used for whether its been a local LAN event or national tournament, they are able to gather up well rounded players and make it count. Hopefully this will work for them this season because it would be hard to watch another notable team slowly fade away due to inactivity from a player. Strengths: Local experience. Most of these guys are close to one another where they can LAN it up and get more one-on-one communication with each other. This helps immensely with chemistry and teamwork as they can communicate more efficiently with the team. The fact that they have been playing together for years also shows the amount knowledge they've gained from each other. Weaknesses: Inactivity. Some of these guys haven't been playing all the time and end up leaving for awhile. As of now the team is still flaky as to who's going to be playing for them this season. With them being unsure of their final roster, it's going to be a struggle to pull off some wins to move up early in the season. Recent Results: 2nd CPL Winter 2007, 2nd CEVO Pro Season 7, 1st CAL-Invite Season 20, 3rd CEVO Semi Pro Season 6 Prediction: Playoffs. Last season's runner-up against X3O last season will need to make some improvement as their team is yet to be complete. Their finals performance last year was a huge disappointment as they won 4 out of 32 rounds. If they want any of that to change, now is the time to act quickly. |
