Counter-Strike: CEVO-Pro 1.6 Week One Predictions!

By: Nick Bee - Published February 13, 2008 at 11:37 PM EST - Writer Archive
GotFrag's psychic (some not so psychic) predictors take a shot at the debut week of 1.6 action! Now with special guest mehLer!

Welcome to the premier week of GotFrag Predictions for CEVO-Pro 1.6 Season 8. Our predictions come via Midway, Jesuit, Singlecoil, and Alchemist who is standing in for SirScoots while he is out of the office. Joining these regulars will be our special guest of the week, x3o's Dan "mehLer" Mehler. Dan is a starting roster member of last season's CEVO-Pro champions and will set the pace for other guests throughout the season.

Also this week, standing in for Mehler on the predictions for x3o, we have Dan "calzone" Cocchiara. Cocchiara is a member of Nightmare online and all around self-proclaimed Counter-Strike expert of everything.

This inaugural week features de_inferno. The ten teams will play in the standard two match a week format.

Mug N' Mouse vs. CyberGlobe

Mug'N'Mouse still hasn't announced the 5th they will use, casting a shadow of doubt over the texas team. Cyberglobe has cuZ and many are anxious to see how he performs.

Texas CS's last standard bearer needs another player. Keep the legacy alive boys!

Only in Texas can you get mugged by a mouse, mugnpug wins.
Mug N Mouse only has four players on their roster but I think they still have this even with 4.

CuZ starts CG off at 1-0, does talking kill guys? Maybe!
MNM has 4 people on their roster and CyberGlobe apparently has "America's New Talent" (Adrenaline). This one goes to CG unless it's on a texas server.

Darkside vs. x3o

Certain members of Darkside have informed GotFrag that they are infact "out for blood" while x3o sits comfortably upon the position of #2 in North America. Upset in the making?

Darkside's roster looks good, but this isn't a good opening match for them.
Gonna be a hostile environment for the Darkside of the Force.
x3o has the teamwork and aim. They only need to bring one of those talents to win this one.
I got a feeling x3o will be goodforsomethin here!
x3o. simply based on the fact they are the team to beat this season now that they have a solid 5 that is practicing together. x3o by a lot.

Revoltados eSports vs. Dynamo Gaming

Rev sports a new lineup against last season's sixth place team Dynamo Gaming, formally Backfire.

Backfire has definitely improved and is a staple in CEVO-P. ReV has several good players in their lineup and will make it tough … but being out of the spotlight for as long as they have stacks the odds against them.
Dynamo's spectro whips out a ray gun and blasts 'em.
Dynamo Gaming has some really solid players I can see them being in the top 3 this season. This will be their first win.
Dynamo gaming will pick up the win as its hard to predict these two.
East coast players are spoiled and hate playing on texas servers.. and the new Dynamo team is pretty crazy via the internet.. Dynamo.

eMg vs. Nightmare Online

Nightmare's revamped roster goes up against the pain train of eMg. The KODE5 champs will be looking for that perfect season and nMo has n0thing's bullseye on its forehead.

eMg beat Pentagram, nMo doesn’t have five. Figure it out.

emazing gaming will win, indoobitably.

If I had to face eMg I would be having Nightmares too.

I'll take an aZn with a side of chE!
nMo's recent roster shakeup will hurt them but they probably wouldn't have won anyway. eMg hates the internet but they also hate to lose.. eMg.

iniquity vs. Frag Dominant

Iniquity is the team where no one knows quite what to expect. Frag Dominant is pretty much the old SLP and carry with them a pretty solid reputation online.

No way in my right mind can I predict in favor of a team that has two former RoA players on it, just kidding ;). SLP will win, but it will be a good test for the quick rising iniquity.

I've been in my share of dens of iniquity and what I remember is good... er bad. I like bad.
FD's name shows me that think they can win. They are positive. iniquity's name shows me they know how to use a Thesaurus.

I'll go with iniquity although again another game that is hard to call.
I'm not sure what iniquity means.. so I'm somewhat insulted. I havn't had the chance to play against either team at all but FD sounds like they know what they're doing. FD.
