Counter-Strike: UNITED loses CS team

UNITED has confirmed the departure of the Counter-Strike squad.
The Polish team was one of the sides on show during the Extreme Masters II season, having finished in fifth place in a group that also featured the likes of SK Gaming or roccat.

According to team player Tomasz "ths" Sopel, this move was a necessary one for the squad to scale greater heights as the support coming from the UNITED management was not satisfying.

Nevertheless, the former UNITED squad is expected to join a new organisation in the near future as Sopel stressed that the line-up will stick together.

"The main reason for us to leave UNITED was that they were not able to send us to international events anymore," he told GotFrag.com.

"We had money for all local events and we were at KODE5.uk but UNITED has now some problems with their sponsors and we won't be able to go to other tournaments in Europe."

Regarding the reports suggesting the possible interest from PGSPokerStrategy in a new Polish Counter-Strike team for the upcoming ESWC, Sopel stated that his side has not been approached by PGS management.

UNITED had the following Counter-Strike team:

Poland Marcin "rDh" Rutkowski
Poland Tomasz "ths" Sopel
Poland Mateusz "ham" Roslon
Poland Adam "ruloN" Wiśniewski
Poland Adrian "ADi" Szewczyk
