The ASUS Winter 2008 cup kicks off this Saturday with teams such as Virtus.pro, Amazing Gaming or Excello in attendance. The Finnish team Excello comes into this tournament as the defending champion, after defeating Virtus.pro in the final of the Autumn tournament with a score of 2-1. Excello will have the urge for the big wins ahead of the Extreme Masters Finals. Things don't look good for Excello, though, as it has already lost its first match in the group stage. Virtus.pro comes to ASUS high on confidence, after defeating mTw in Extreme Masters relegation to earn a place in the tournament's finals. Although Viktor "Sally" Filimonchenko did not played for the team in recent matches as he is currently barred from all ESL play, Virtus.pro will use its main starting-five during this tournament. Amazing Gaming failed to impress in the last ASUS tournament, not reaching the Playoff stage, and will now be seeking tranquility after two trophyless tournaments.
