Breaking news following press releases made public by both eMazing Gaming and Evil Geniuses. The EG organization has acquired the eMazing Gaming 1.6 team, now known as EG.usa. The news comes as a surprise to many and will certainly add to the recent buzz surrounding the American team as the KODE5 World Finals tournament approaches.

When asked about the considerations surrounding the decision to acquire an American Counter-Strike clan, EG General Manager Alex Garfield state:

"I think that the American CS community is dying for a team to call their own and root for on the international stage. For almost a year now, I think the community's been lacking a national home base, and I think this group of players has proven that they can provide that. For almost 9 months now, EG has been a North American organization, with strong American divisions in Quake and WoW. To me, it makes perfect sense to pick up America's top CS team."

When questioned regarding the fate of the newly restructured Canadian based CS team, Garfield continued:

"In regards to the Canadian CS team, it will continue to thrive. I wouldn't have made this move if I weren't able to fully support both teams, and I'm very excited about the new Canadian lineup and how well they've been playing."

March 3, 2008 (Dallas, TX) � eMazing Gaming LLC would like to announce the successful sale and transfer of their Counter-strike 1.6 team to North American E-Sports franchise, Team EG. The move is the first of many for eMazing Gaming that will kick off a new direction for the team and its parent company, eMazing Interactive, Inc.

Also in the release, eMg has indicated that they will not be picking up a new 1.6 clan in the future, choosing to focus their efforts on other aspects of the company which will be announced later this year.

It isn't an excuse. Naz before he even picked up Kev and Jordan for kode 5 said that if he didn't like chemistry he was going to keep ph0bius on. He makes roster choices based on overall chemistry and I think you should just trust him on this. He has been doing a pretty good job so far managing the roster. :/

Wow emg is terrible! Way to go get a name change and sell out a bit. I mean EG.us that seems like a joke to me. And they probably gonna cop their bad performances with x3o and mnm on aZn. Guess I am rooting for x3o from now on.

#34 If you knew anything about how teams in the New York work you would know why they aren't keeping aZn. aZn is a insane fragger and a nice guy, but even I know him staying on that roster wouldn't be beneficial to him or the eMg guys. There is a reason in the past that Naz and the f2 crew have been doing what they do and Kevin and the mk/h5m crew do what they do as separate teams.

#38 I don't think they ever said them losing was Kevin's fault. I do think they believe their chemistry would be better with ph0bius though instead of Kevin.

At any rate I hope to see Kev on a better roster or make a better roster and for EG.us to do very well. Flashbacks, kudos, and good lucks all around. :/

That quote about chemistry can definitely be taken as an insult from aZn's point. Plus it almost seems as if they are trying mimic the European cs 1.6 team when they obviously aren't at the level to compete with them.

Cutting aZn and moving to EG as their "US" team...2 mistakes by eMg. I guess this move is so people will actually root for a winning EG team amirite?

#42 not really some people bond better with other people. just how it goes, you need all 5 players to bond if you wanna play at the level they're at/wanna compete vs the euro teams. Not an insult just a realization he didn't fit as well as they thought he would.

#43 they didn't move to EG. EG bought out the contracts from eMg. But in the end its good for naz, n0hing, pho, che, ev0 because EG has the $$ to send them to bootcamps, and more tournaments. hopefully some international tournys. And i'm pretty sure they will be getting a monthly salary but thats speculation on my part!

Even though he was preforming well with them I believe? aZn was putting up numbers and winning lans which were big. I mean then to say it was chemistry after two really bad matches seems to be a low blow a bit because it looked like there definitely was some chemistry there. Also basically taking away your spot from a team to replace you with an old member who was gone is pretty gay especially when you are doing so well for the team.

They are pretty big but they are gonna try an make a team usa worthy to compete with europe but they will get housed. I mean the US scene is pretty beat in it's self.

#42 It can be taken as an insult, but in the past like I said there are reasons you don't know about as to why Kevin has always been on another team instead of on Naz's and vise versa. They have to different outlooks on the game and personality differences that don't agree with each other in game sometimes so technically it isn't about if Kevin is good enough. Kevin is more than good enough, but due to maybe some differences in opinion it doesn't workout the best in a team aspect. Same thing happens in teams every day and just because it happens doesn't mean they think he is a bad player. Far as I know they have mutual respect for each other just disagreements in certain aspects on the game.

I don't always agree on some stuff Naz thinks, but he has proven me wrong before so I know he knows how to handle the roster he is working on. He sets goals, works for them, and generally accomplishes them so I hope he continues to do that.

Also why not mimic what is working? You think they might not be on their level, but I think they proved at WCG that they can compete and if they continue to take away something from Euro teams in the process they might become better as they go. I could very well see them becoming a top level team. Very few American teams in history have been on par with Euro teams so that is nothing new. I am glad to see them progressing and trying new things like Euro teams to better themselves as a whole. I wouldn't ever underestimate them because like I said they have proven me wrong in the past. :/

EDIT - Also aZn was winning LANs or was the team winning LANs? I am pretty sure it was a team effort. Yea aZn did top frag, but them winning isn't all about aZn. The team in itself shouldn't have to be encompassed by Kevin's shadow when each one of them worked just as hard to try and come up with a win. I think you shouldn't think of them so lightly and give them credit where credit is due. They were winning LANs here before they picked up Kevin so he wasn't the only reason they won. :/
