This year's ESWC USA event is about to be underway as 29 teams compete for just two coveted spots in the 2008 ESWC Grand Finals, held in San Jose, California, between August 24th and 27th. According to ESWC's website, the Grand Finals will bring together competitors from over 50 countries in six different disciplines.

The online qualifier for the United States Counter-Strike team will begin on April 21st and continue until May 29th. Competeing teams include EG.usa, X3O, MugNMouse, MoB Gaming, and The Guardians.

The top two qualifying teams will receive travel allowance to attend the ESWC Final and the City of San Jose will provide accommodations for the four day tournament.

This year, the US will have two representatives in each discipline; Counter-Strike 1.6 & Counter-Strike 1.6 Women, Defense of the Ancient, Warcraft III, Trackmania Nations and Quake III Arena.

* Seeding into the ESWC Grand Final
* $700.00 in travel expenses covered per player, up to $3,500
* Hotel & Lodging covered

2nd Place:

* Seeding into the ESWC Grand Final
* Hotel & Lodging covered
