United States interPlay.zoi

Liridon "quas" Ademaj
Chris "projeckt" Costoso
Kevin "AllStrZ" Merslich
Arber "bxk" Ukehaxhaj
Zeus "demos" Wu

iPlay has been around for a few season now, but only recently has been getting attention after a few of their players had some break out LAN events, namely demos. After making some additions, iPlay has solidified their roster with some veteran players in quas and bxk. They are holding down the seventh spot in CEVO Main with a 10 - 6 record.

Most recently, iPlay took home fourth place at x3o's preliminary event, just one spot shy of the money.

Strengths:

With all of their players local to NYC, iPlay is a close knit group, having a strong friendship uniting their members. All of them have the ability to simply explode and have multifrag rounds.

Weaknesses:

iPlay is probably one of the least experienced team in the event. Mix that with the fact that they have only recently put together this lineup, and you see that iPlay has some serious obstacles to their success in this tournament.

Prediction:

They have a lot of work to do in order to stay in the event until the second day. But if teams overlook them, they could find themselves throwing out an upset or two.

United States Team34

Jason "thetoy" Brownlee
Blake "nolimit" Burton
Cliff "twizzy" Green
Ryan "thr!ce" Tomlin
Zach "tigerz" Vogel

34 seemingly fell off the map following WCG US last summer and the retirement of long time member recoil. While they waited out one season of CEVO in order to find a right fitting fifth, 34 is back and doing well. With an 11 - 5 record, they ended the CEVO Main regular season in 6th place.

With four of their players being long time members, 34 is in an unique position among most of the other participating teams. With such a long history together, 34 has a ton of chemistry and teamwork.

Strengths:

Solid, consistent lineup. With four of their players being on the team for the better part of a year, this team has tons of experience playing together.

Weaknesses:

34 is prone to having communication breakdowns, which cause them to lose rounds which they shouldn't.

Prediction:

Seeding might take a huge role in how well 34 does here. A bad seed with surely have them in the lower bracket and fighting to keep themselves in the tournament among the other CEVO Main teams.

United States drift
Stephen "diko" Leblanc
Frank "illuzion" Liccardo
Andre "bleek" Manzi
Eric "lbs" Pounds
Santos "HeLLScreaM" Torres

The newest team to be thrown into the mix, drift is made up of players from all sorts of different generations of drift lineups. They put together this team to compete at the x3o prelim, and after taking third place have continued on. While they went through that event as the dark horse, and surprised everyone by making it as far as they did, they probably won't have the same luck here.

They have some talented old school JMC players in diko and lbs, as well as some new school talent in hellscream. In addition, they have jacked the old DarkSide CAL spot, but it isn't clear exactly how much of the 4 - 11 record can be pinned to this roster.

Strengths:

Despite only forming as a team a few weeks ago, many of the players on drift have played on teams together, some of which were even on different reincarnations of drift together. That being said, they have much better chemistry and teamwork than most three week old team.

Weaknesses:

Regardless of their past experience together, they are still new, and have not been able to work out some flaws that will be exploited by the top teams in this competition.

Prediction:

If they can fly under the radar once again, drift might be able to knock out some upper tiered teams and pull off a top 8 finish.
