For a third consecutive season, X3O has taken control by capturing the #1 seed and a BYE to second round. They have had one of their roughest seasons thus far with four losses; two of which were to MoB Gaming. The defending champions will take center stage as they begin to defend their title once more.

Just last week, X3O showed their strength in a sweep of the GotFrag Revival Tournament and taking first place, along with $1,000. They were also using Joe "perez" Perez of MoB Gaming as a stand-in for Mehler at the time. Perez has played with most of the team before in the past and showed just that by a excellent team performance last week in the Revival Tournament.

Since the previous season, the team had to fill in the position for Gilbert's early departure to Evil Geniuses. After using Shaun "hostile" Catron as a stand-in, it didn't take long for the team to decide on their fifth but when they did, Ben "theNuT" Hui was welcomed aboard. Following the CGS Draft and a break from CS as a whole, Hui had it in him to get back into CS at just the right time.

Unless we are in for some more surprises, X3O and MoB should have yet another finals match-up. Before that can happen, one of them will have to fall into the lower bracket first. Out of the last four sanctioned matches that X3O has faced them, MoB has beaten them twice. It's a battle of the best as the #1 team will look to repeat another championship.

Strengths: Consistency and teamwork. Having played with each other since the early Turmoil days, their chemistry and coordination will continue to strengthen as time progresses. Their recent win in the GRT Preliminary proved just that with Perez as a stand-in for the event.

Weaknesses: MoB. Out of the two matches against them, X3O has been winless against MoB in CEVO. X3O could see a quick drop to the Lower Bracket if they aren't careful. Another big problem is finding top teams to practice against. After you play MoB and EG a dozen times, you begin to show your opponents how you play more often than you want.

Prediction: First. Unless MoB sends them to the lower bracket in the third round, X3O has an easy schedule to sweep the event. If they can set the tempo and keep charging with the momentum they already have fired up, I don't see how they cannot win this championship.
