Counter-Strike: Russian pair qualify for KODE5

By: Luis Mira - Published April 29, 2008 at 6:35 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The Russian and the Belarusian KODE5 stops took place last weekend, with Virtus.pro and EYESports emerging as winners.
The first day of KODE5 Belarus saw Portal.Log beating favourite snT with a score of 2-0 to win the berth for the second day, where it would have to battle against non-local sides.

However, Portal.Log posed little threat to Ukrainian side Amazing Gaming, who qualified for the Grand Final to meet EYEsports. In the end, the Russian team, who had defeated A-Gaming in the Semi-Finals of the DTS-Cup, won the tournament after beating Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov's squad 2-1.

In the Russian stop, highly-favoured Virtus.pro sweeped through the entire competition before reaching the Final, where it met tp|uSports, a squad that had defeated both forZe
and 88-Gaming.

Virtus.pro came out on top with a score of 2-1, and has qualified, just like EYESports, for the tournament's Global Finals, which will take place in Moscow from May 10th-11th.
