GotFrag takes a look at teams competing in the 2007 KODE5 Global Finals.

(Moscow, Russia) - The 2007 KODE5 Global Finals takes place in Moscow this weekend and GotFrag is there to bring you play by play coverage of the entire event. Seeds and groups have been determined and the plot is set for some very exciting action. GotFrag takes a look at some of the big players in this event.

Ukraine HellRaisers

Ukraine Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow
Ukraine Volodimyr "Bastik" Derunov
Ukraine Ivan "Johnta" Shevcov
Ukraine Yegor "markeloff" Markelov
Ukraine Valentin "valentiniCh" Kravchenko

The Ukrainian team impressed at KODE5 Ukraine, defeating a more-experienced and highly-favored Amazing Gaming, and proved to be very solid at DTS Cup 2008, where it showed that its spot in the KODE5 Global Finals was no coincidence.

However, HellRaisers had a relatively easy route until the Grand Final, where it met EYESports. Defeating hoorai was undoubtedly something to be happy for, but you have to remember that the German team has been in crisis of late and is already in the mid-table places in EPS.

HellRaisers seems to be a very strong and cohesive group, but its lack of experience at the highest level may well prove to be fatal for it.

This will be HellRaisers' first big international event, and will undoubtedly be an experience to remember. Every team in its group has more experience in international events than HR, so will its mad skills be enough to qualify for the next phase? That's what will be seen.

Russia tp.uSports

Russia Ruslan "Dober" Shariffylin
Russia Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov
Russia Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov
Russia Andrey "Junito" Desyatkin
Russia Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov

KODE5's last-minute addition to the Counter-Strike tournament came in the form of tp.uSports. The runner-up of KODE5 Russia has been together for quite some time, with relatively discreet displays at local events, like the ASUS tournaments.

Tp.uSports now seems to have trained a lot more, and performed well at KODE5 Russia, where it took the decision for the first place to a 3rd map against Virtus.pro. It also defeated forZe and 88-gaming, and seems really ready for their first international challenge.

Although tp.uSports' men are very skilled, that may not be enough for this tournament. Nonetheless, if they are on a very good day, they might have what it takes to fight for the second place in the group.

United Kingdom Dignitas

United Kingdom William "RedH" Manson
United Kingdom Kal "101" Meek
United Kingdom Mark "Sp|ke" Quigley
United Kingdom Kurtis "Kurt1s" Shore
United Kingdom Alex "AlesKi" Way

The former Trademark Gamers squad qualified for the tournament in Moscow after defeating Polish side UNITED in the British stop.

This seems to be the new generation of players in the United Kingdom, as 4Kings has been pretty much non-existent for quite some time, something this roster really knew how to take advantage of.

However, competition inside the UK seems to lack, and being #1 here may probably mean little or nothing.

Placed in Group A, Dignitas saw its chances of progressing being enlarged by roccat going to Group B, and only a really bad day from Virtus.pro can see it finishing in second place in the group.

Turkey DarkPassage

Turkey Tunç "carpediem" Sertatas
Turkey Erman "COOL" Eray
Turkey Salih "marqnue" Onaran
Turkey Ertug "venza" Okcuoglu
Turkey Timucin "xylem" Argilli

The Turkish squad DarkPassage has had very discreet performances in international events, and it will surely want this to change at KODE5. Could it be this time?

DP had been unable to attend the 2006 KODE5 event because of problems with the sponsors, so the tournament organization decided to give it a "rightful shot" at the 2007 Finals.

Several Turkish-born players, such as gob b, y4sin or coLLy, play at EPS Germany on a daily basis, so there is no doubt about what players from this country can do. Although none of those listed above are in this team, several players from DP have represented their country in international events like NationsCup or ENC.

DarkPassage will have a very hard task in Group B, meeting several teams that have a lot more experience in these tournaments. However, DP has nothing to lose, but it will certainly not want to be a mere spectator in Russia.
