Counter-Strike: mibr loses 4 to CSS

By: Luis Mira - Published May 14, 2008 at 7:19 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Made in Brazil has confirmed the departure of four players from the Counter-Strike team.
The Brazilian team announced in April the return of three players, Raphael "cogu" Camargo, Renato "nak" Nakano and Bruno "bruno" Ono, who had seen their CGS contracts expire and were willing to return to 1.6 action.

However, and just after a 5th-8th place finish at KODE5, Made in Brazil has decided to create a Counter-Strike: Source squad with every player that went to Russia but Bruno "bit" Lima.

According to the official press release, MiBR considers CS:S "one of the most competitive games in electronic sports", having decided to create this squad because of CGS and the main Source competitions in the world.

The fifth player of the Counter-Strike: Source team has been confirmed to be Carlos “KIKOOOO“ Segal, who has been out of action since he retired in January 2007.

"Source is very similar to 1.6, and with this team, I would return in any First-Person Shooter game," he told the team's website.

"We are thinking about attending several competitions around the world, and CGS is definitely the most important. But that's up for Paulo to decide, and if he decides that we should be Rio Sinistro's team, we will be there!"

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that Bruno "bit" Lima will join Made in Brazil's second Counter-Strike team, now the organisation's only.

The team has now a six-man roster, but according to the news release, one player will leave by next week.

Made in Brazil has now the following squads:

Made in Brazil:
Brazil Bruno "bit" Lima
Brazil Thiago "btt" Monteiro
Brazil Olavo "cky" Napoleão
Brazil Norberto "Lance" Lage
Brazil Rodrigo "r0drigo" de Souza
Brazil Wellington "ton" Caruso

Made in Brazil Counter-Strike:Source:
Brazil Bruno "bruno" Ono
Brazil Raphael "cogu" Camargo
Brazil Lincoln "fnx" Lau
Brazil Carlos "KIKOOOO" Segal
Brazil Renato "nak" nakano

Freaking fail indeed, mibr 1.6 was the only reason I watched KODE5 Global Final, they were for me the best 1.6 and counter-strike team, now in Source it's over I can't stand watching nor playing this game. bad news in my opinion.

i wouldn't really consider them the best team of 2006 since they only won ESWC that year (big event i know) but i would pick fnatic or pgs for 2006 but onto topic, what a kick in the ass mibr did lol

So they leave 1.6 to play Source, then leave Source and come back to 1.6, and maybe 2 weeks later tops it's back to Source? Complete fail taking fnx with them too.

Who said Brazilians were intelligent? Come one are they retarded, "most competitive game" are you serious? miBR needs to rethink this decision and keep two 1.6 teams or one team should break off and remade gamecrashers or something.

They tried to do a come-back on 1.6 like they were better than others and will destroy them and they realized that they still a Top10 team in 1.6 and will never be more, so they go back to source hehe. That's what I call LOOSERS :)And the good thing too is that they will bring with them the brazilians's cheerleaders. No more "woooWooooo mibr rocks the world", "OH YEAH MIBR GODS".Thanks god, that's what I call a good news.

this is ridiculous, they have such potential to be great, well they are already great, they got 5-8th in a great field at KODE5.... What a waste of raw talent like fnx and cogu to go to source. They said they plan on attending many source events throughout the year....there hasnt even been one source event this year and its Almost june. What a dissapointment

Major fail from a group of sore losers.

Bunch of sellouts, and the thing is, they played well at KODE5.

I've lost all respect for them.
