ESWC CANADA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP DATES ANNOUNCED

Vancouver, Canada - The countdown has begun to find the best video gaming talent in Canada and to win a chance to represent your country at the international finals in San Jose for the Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC). The Canadian event will be hosted in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the dates of August 4th through 6th of 2008.

VanLan Entertainment, the official organizers of this year’s ESWC Canada National Championships, have made arrangements to host the event at the University of British Columbia's War Memorial Gym in Vancouver. Some of the best pro gamers in the North will be battling it out over the three day Canada Finals, all focused on winning 1st place to qualify to progress to the International Finals in San Jose, dates August 25th through 27th of this year

Official video-game tournaments for ESWC Canada 2008 are:

Counter-Strike® 1.6 (5v5)

Quake 3 Arena™ (1v1)

Warcraft® III : The Frozen Throne® (1v1)

Trackmania Nations Forever ® (1v1)

Warcraft® III : Defense of The Ancients (5v5)

The ESWC Canada National Championships LAN will run over three days, the first day (4th August) will see the beginning of the long journey for gamers to prove their worth in 5 gaming disciplines. In the end a select few will represent Team CANADA for the world to see. Registration for the above games will open on Saturday 24th of May on both http://www.eswc.com/canada AND http://vanlan.ca

ESWC GLOBAL FINALS:
The International Grand Finals are taking place in San Jose between August 25th-27th, where National Champions will be compete for the title of the World's finest.
