GotFrag takes a look at the top six seeded teams competing in this weekend's Revival Tour event.

(GotFrag) - The GotFrag Revival Tour Tournament #2 gets underway with twice as many teams as the first. 32 CS 1.6 teams will meet in battle for bragging rights, a berth to the next Revival Tournament, to become the next big star on GotFrag TV and most importantly, $1000 cold hard cash. GotFrag has assembled some of the finest teams in North America for two days of live streaming coverage by GotFrag TV with Midway, Vansilli, jESUIT and the crew, bringing you play by play, color commentary and much more.

Teams were chosen from the first GotFrag Revival Tour Tournament to be named as invited teams for this second tournament. The remainder of teams were chosen from open registration. GotFrag takes a quick look at a cross section of teams competing in the second GotFrag Revival Tour tournament.

United States MoB Gaming

Thomas "thomz" Garcia
Noah "StrikeR" Alvarado
Shaun "hostile" Catron
Jeff "Hero" Mettetal
Derek "holl@" Boorn

Since placing second at the last Revival Tournament, MoB has undergone some seemingly unneeded roster changes. They have been teetering with their fourth and fifth positions for quite a while now, settling on Mettetal and Boorn for this event. The core has remained relatively unchanged since Garcia's addition a few weeks ago.

MoB is clearly hungry to take home the gold this time around, after falling just shy of it last event. With their toughest competition in EG.usa and x3o sitting this one out, MoB should be a shoe in for the finals and should be disappointed with anything other than first place.

United States Mug N Mouse

Travis "tmo" Bechtol
Josh "punkville" Dacus
Kevin "bzrk" Russell
Joseph "cfXzZz" Tressa

Bechtol has thrown together some of the best texans around for this event. Unfortunately, they are at this moment without a fifth, and no word has been mentioned as to what they are doing about it. While MNM was able to place third at the previous GRT event (hence their 2nd seed), the only member remaining from that lineup is Bechtol.

Does all this mean you should count the texans out? Absolutely not. MNM, and more notably the texan players, have proven that they can get the job done with skill alone. Not to mention that with the way the community down south has intertwined itself, all of these players have spent time playing with one another so chemistry is not totally out of the equation for these guys. If they can add a sinyster or another top notch TX player this team should have no problem riding their seed deep into the event.

United States Frag Dominant

James "Jame^s" O'Connor
Ted "Luckeyted" Weinrich
William "sh0ts" Griffith
Trevor "p0s" Randolph
George "krb" Gonzalez

Formerly known as Green Berets, FD has gone through some recent roster changes. Sparked by the departure of Anthony "m4gic" Coriale, the team has added Randolph, formerly of the now deceased GR, and most recently Gonzalez as a sixth man. With prior commitments preventing starter Josh "Pinekone" Springer from participating this weekend, Gonzalez will see his first taste of action under the FD namesake.

Ever since coming back as GB a few months ago, they have remained relatively under the radar as far as the top of the NA scene is concerned. While they placed fourth in CEVO main and 6-7th in the last Revival Tour event, FD has yet to really stand out as one of the continent's best teams like they have in the past. Look for them to take advantage of the lower average skill of the teams in attendance to propel themselves to a top five finish.

United States 50 Calibre Gaming

Dan "dsingh" Singh
Jacob "flashback" Carter
Jasper "sfX" Ko
Vince "fr3aK" DeCarlo
Mike "mkpro" Rogers

Born from the ashes of I95 and a viGor/CaribOne remake, 50Cal brings together another cluster of players who have at one point or another been on teams together. Using their past chemistry, they have been able to advance very quickly and throw together a team who can contend with many of the top NA teams. Also, the players bring some of the summers most sought after roster spots including a CEVO pro spot for next season, a spot in the WCG US Open spot, and a spot in the x3o tournament series. Now they are trying to add a spot to the GotFrag Revival Tour Finals.

Unfortunately, with 50Cal also attending the WCG US Open in NYC this Sunday, the team will have to do some schedule maneuvering in order to even hope to compete in the double elimination bracket of this event. More likely than not though, I see them dropping out completely in order to focus on WCG. There is always the possibility that the scheduling works out and if they take an early exit from WCG you may still see them in the Revival Tour on Sunday.

United States focaL

Mark "Scoutz" Herrero
David "Lawjeek" Cook
Travis "Revenge" Osborne
Bryan "beagle" "Shen
Richie "bubaN" Palou

Team to Beat really emerged onto the scene after playing well in CEVO main last season. They are made up of a local San Diego core. Recently they added the final pieces to the puzzle in beagle and bubaN. Last Revival Tour event, they knocked out a lagging, excuse riddled EG.usa. Despite many fans calling that match a fluke, and ttb being eliminated just one match later, they are back again trying to earn a spot in the GRT finals.

Now playing under the focaL banner, the team looks to improve upon their 8-11th finish last time around. If they used the last event as a learning experience, there should be no reason for them not to be able to use this event as a springboard and place in the top five.

United States interPlay.zoi

Zeus "demos" Wu
Liridon "quas" Ademaj
Chris "projeckt" Costoso
Ian "pyrite" Thomas
David "savi0r" Park

iPlay has come a long way in a relatively short time. 2008 has truly been a breakout year for them. With back to back fourth place finishes at x3o series 1 and 2, as well as a qualification for the WCG regionals, iPlay is making a sharp turn towards becoming a top 10 NA team. Most recently, they have been forced to replace two members, nepo and bxk. They have decided to use this event as a kind of test bed for their newly added teammates.

Those new additions are certainly no slouches, as both Thomas and Park have spent plenty of time on the rosters of top US teams. Regardless of whether or not they mesh well together, iPlay should not have a problem against any of the lower seeded teams. However their matches late on Sunday will be a true test as to whether or not this lineup will have a future.
