Virtus.pro has confirmed the addition of Mykhailo "kane" Blagin to the Counter-Strike team. Virtus.pro was reportedly unhappy with the 9th-12th place finish at the KODE5 2007 Global Finals and the 7th-8th place finish at Extreme Masters II Finals, and thus considered that roster changes were necessary for it to return to the European elite. Filimonchenko's replacement comes in the form of Ukrainian veteran Mykhailo "kane" Blagin, former member of pro100 that represented csc.Arena at DTS-Cup 2008. His experience extends beyond local tournaments, however, as he also picked up a 9th-16th WCG 2006 finish during his time at pro100. Blagin is in line to make his official debut for Virtus.pro in a showmatch against fnatic on Friday, the 6th of June, in Moscow. Virtus.pro has now the following team: Alexey "LeX" Kolesnikov Roman "ROMJkE" Makarov Ioan "Edward" Sukhariev Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko Mykhailo "kane" Blagin |

It's interesting to see how forZe might just gather almost the entire of Virtus.Pro line-up. Last ASUS Cup, they played with Groove as a stand-in, and they could now make a line-up of Snoop, F_1N, HEL1, Groove and Sally. I doubt that Groove would become a permanent player with them, though, and he also has to play ESWC with Virtus.Pro.
It seems that Virtus.Pro is run very much like a business and seemingly professionally so. I don't think it's easy for the players, who had dropped off one by one. When I look at how their team initially started, I think they could have achieved much more. It's a bit sad for me to see so few Russians in Virtus.Pro since they seem to be the only team in Russia with decent support. I really cheer for the Russians, and now I have little more to cheer for than som great solo performances for LeX, since I'd prefer other Russian teams to win.
I must say that even though Kane seems like a decent player and has achieved good results with his teams, I haven't been impressed with him so far. I don't find him to be of Virtus.Pro calibre, even though I'm sure the team with get something good out of him.
3 Ukrainians
Virtus.pro = Russian team O_o ???
It's 400kg
And I still don't know how to pronounce "ROMJkE".
Zeus carried the team on their ct side vs fnatic, where fnatic's T side demolished virtus on nuke, it was Zeus making sure fnatic kept wasting all their money even on a 8 rounds lead.
Asking to remove romjke is very... well... senseless, since romjke is their current second best player. Romjke either takes nobody down, or brings a big 3-4 frags round to his team, you just havent watched him enough to know he's almost as good as LeX, though with a very different playing style
The one that had to go, sadly, truly had to be sally, if any changes were to be made. Sally was their weakest link, even though he kept getting the "easiest" jobs on the team on most rounds. Sally sometimes struggled even against weaker teams, he was great in 2004, but like Heaton, some players just arent that great anymore nowadays, CS has evolved, some players didnt evolve with it
#1 the reason most players left were internal arguments between the players, and when johan went, it was obvius that boris would leave too, since theyve played together for ages.
I dont think it was very smart of them to add kane though, Konstantin (groove) has truly stepped up quite a bit, and if he had the time to do it, he should be their permanent 5th, since he was the best in-game leader virtus ever had
I can think of at least 10 Russian players off the top of my head who are more famous than him.
Sally was very inconsistent. Really Zeus is the worst on VP.
id like to see dingo playing with this lineup. really.
Zeus is terribblbee
Kane already has lots of experience with half these players who obviously think highly of him as a player and a person so i think skill wise there wont be much difference since they still have LeX to awp. VP has changed so much since WEG3 its really sad. They were alot of peoples favourite team but its a new era now and newer players step up so gl to them anyway.
nobody knew romjke and he really revealed himself to be a great player
btw Filimonchenko is like the coolest name ever
his behaviour is nothing sufficient to be called hot shot.
his skills are very good, if not being one the best awps in the world.
GLORIOUS VICTORY!
they should do
LeX, romjke, edward, johan and bORIS, but that will never happen =/
Btw Virtus`ll be qualify to ESWC in Ukraine. I think it will be much harder, than in Russia. But they given the way to other teams in Russia. Gl.
btw, ukraine will have Hellraisers and that team hooch's in now, russia will have tp.usports and eyesports, so neither will be easy
nah xek > hooch imo
and why are you calling #35 an idiot in #43, he said it was a cool name. Who cares if its a surname or not? idiot!
