Counter-Strike: Gravitas CS team disbands

By: Luis Mira - Published June 10, 2008 at 1:56 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Gravitas Gaming has confirmed the dismissal of the Counter-Strike: 1.6 squad.
The Danish team managed just a fourth place in the KODE5 group stage, finishing behind Meet Your Makers, mTw and tp.uSports.

According to the official announcement, the lack of world-class results and a "drop in motivation" for some of the players caused the disbandment of the squad.

"I felt that we couldn’t keep up with the tough competition even though I am well aware of the fact that the team was brand new – the atmosphere and general “team feeling” wasn’t really there," Andreas “KK” Andreassen told the team's official website.

Gravitas stated, meanwhile, that both Andreassen and team-mate Alexander “telli” Lundkvist will be taking a break from competitive gaming.

"I no longer have the drive you need to be at your very best so instead of wasting my and my team members’ time I’ve decided to stop," Andreassen said.

Gravitas Gaming had the following roster:

Denmark Andreas "KK" Andreassen
Denmark Rasmus "FaagaN" Møller
Denmark Alexander "telli" Lundkvist
Denmark Martin "woodi" Holm
Denmark Finn "karrigan"Andersen
