Counter-Strike: SK skips GameGune

By: Luis Mira - Published June 25, 2008 at 8:46 AM EDT - Writer Archive
SK Gaming has cancelled its participation in the GameGune 2008 event.
The Swedish had been confirmed by the GameGune organisation as one of the thirty-two teams in attendance at the 2008 tournament, which will take place from July 25th-27th in Bilbao.

However, GameGune has just revealed that SK Gaming will miss the Spanish tournament because of a planned bootcamp.

Details are still slim as to why the Swedish squad has decided to call off its participation in GameGune, but it may be related to the inclusion of Marcus “zet” Sundstrom, which has been reported for the past days.

The dropout of SK Gaming leaves GameGune with a roster composed by twenty-three teams, with the tournament's organisation confirming that a replacement for SK, as well as the remaining eight names, will be announced by next week.

GameGune has now the following attendees:

United States x3o
Germany n!faculty
United Kingdom Dignitas
Spain K1ck eSports Club
Austria plan-B
Lithuania Konkurentai
Sweden Blank
Denmark wooSai
Romania Earthquake
Israel Galacticos
