CyberEvolution is back for their ninth season of Counter-Strike 1.6 league play. Many familiar faces along with new competition will help make the upcoming season an ever better one.

If you are new to CEVO, you will need to download and install the CMN3. You must be running the CMN3 during all matches. You can download the CMN3 here: http://cevo.com/index.php?page=account&func=cmn.

There have been a few changes from last season, so please read this post carefully and review the rules just to be sure.

Maps:

Week 1 - de_nuke
Week 2 - de_inferno
Week 3 - de_forge
Week 4 - de_dust2
Week 5 - de_tuscan
Week 6 - de_de_train
Week 7 - de_russka
Week 8 - de_nuke
OOW - de_inferno

OOW (Out of Week) makeup matches are scheduled when two teams need makeups from different weeks and have no opponents to play against that has a FF on the same map. Teams that are scheduled OOW matches throughout the season are allowed to play on any map that the two teams can agree on. If the two teams cannot agree on a specific map, then de_inferno will be used.

The flashbug fix map pack must be installed on any server used for matches. You can find the pack as well as any of our own custom maps in the downloads section of our website.

Roster Locks:

Rosters will remain open all throughout the preseason until Sunday, July 6th. After the regular season begins, rosters will be open every week from 12:00 AM Friday - 11:59 PM Sunday. Remember, any time the rosters are locked we will NOT move you from one roster to another UNLESS your opponent(s) approve.

Also, Team registration for our Season 9 event is still OPEN. Registration will remain open all throughout pre-season until Sunday, July 13th.

Rule Change - Crouch Hopping LEGAL:

After talking with players, managers, fans, and staff over the last two seasons, we have decided to make a major change to our current crouch hopping rule. Effective immediately, the act of crouch hopping is now legal.

With that said, it is now illegal to bind "+duck" or "crouch" to your mousewheel. Players that are found to be in violation of this rule will have rounds from their matches overturned in accordance with our rules.

That's retarded for it to be illegal, maybe if it wasn't allowed for crouch hopping. Guess i'm not playing CEVO this season. Making crouch hopping legal in the first place is a terrible idea.

I don't have a problem with it to peak corners or whatever, but a good crouch hopper messes with the sound. normally there's either a rush, where you hear the enemy coming, or they walk in. crouch hopping is somewhat of a middle ground, you hear tiny little pit pats, but by then the person is pretty much up in your face.

That's nice; it's legal, but the main method to utilize it is illegal. Hah. That's like cops saying that the act of shooting someone is legal, but that guns are now illegal.

The other amusing part is that a large portion of people will probably not hear about it and leave it bound without knowing.

#9, the main method of utilizing it is to peek corners to mess up your hitboxes. kids only started using it to eliminate sound in the past couple years.

#11 you would be pretty hardpressed to find a demo in 2005 of players using it to peak corners and mess up hitboxes.

Crouch hopping only fastens the pace of the game, and ultimately if everyone is AWARE of the possibility of someone crouch hopping somewhere, they would in turn become more aware and better at this game. GJ CEVO : )

#11 - No, I meant the bind was the main method of utilizing it, not why they were using the crouch hop...

I think this is a good idea, however I use mousewheel to crouch peak corners and fast peak over boxes which has never been illegal so I highly doubt you will get banned for just having it in your config. However if you are disputed for crouch running using this method then yea you are gonna be screwed.

I think its great. New additions make the game for fun and a little more competitiveness.

#9 isnt the main method. maybe it is, but its the "I-DONT-KNOW-HOW-TO-DUCKJUMP-PROPERLY... method. if you really know how to do it, u dont need use mwheelup/down.

I use +duck for mousewheel down, why make that illegal? Might as well just legalize it completely, but it's a good step... now is it illegal to have +duck bind to mwheel or just to crouch hop with it binded to that?

i cant crouch hop without mwheel and i totally rely on it. id rather have no crouch hopping but crouch peaking or only 1

does it really mess up hitboxes or is that a myth? If it does infact screw with the hitboxes I dont think it should be made legal, but if it doesn't I cant see a problem. Who cares if the footsteps are a little distorted.....you still hear the person coming its nnot actually silent.

Great rule change. Crouch hopping speeds up the pace of the game which is amazing. It's easily feasible without mwheel, just something new people have to learn; adds another skill to the game. I've never had a problem with hit boxes i think that's just an excuse for someone that was surprised when someone crouch hopped out of a corner and they missed.

Im very happy they did this the way they did,
if you can't crouch walk without using the mousewheel you should be forced to play without a mouse at all for all matches until you figure it out, it's not hard :P
But crouch hopping does make gameplay faster as other people mentioned, so thats a huge plus.
