The event will take place from July 4th-6th at the Palais Omnisports of Paris and will feature all the ESWC official games, Counter-Strike: 1.6, Defense of the Ancients, Quake 3 Arena, Trackmania Nations, and Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne.

The ESWC Masters of Paris will reward the winners with money and a spot in the ESWC 2008 event, to take place in California during the summer.

The ESWC has divided the teams into two seed pools and a non-seed pool. Each Counter-Strike group will have one participant from each seed pool and three from the non-seed pool.

According to the official announcement, a group can't have more than two participants from the same nationality.

The attendees have been seeded according to their results in previous ESWC editions and other major competitions.

The Counter-Strike: 1.6 tournament will kick off with a five-team group phase, with the first two teams qualifying for the single elimination phase.

#8 Yeah thats great and all but those teams still suck there are tons of other international teams better than most of the French teams up there with the exception of emulate and possibly Against All Authority.

its not ESWC WORLD FINALS its a qualifier. of course theres gonna be a lot of french teams

attax and roccat are better than mibr, estro and emulate.

Looks fair to me. I also think that it's somewhat based on previous ESWC results so it makes sense.

mibr have 'credit' with the ESWC organization, maybe beacause they won the grand finals in 2006 and was top 4 last year...

MYM [top], mibr [high], and the non-seeded teams: roccat , Alternate and EG.

Top seed are OK, but:
MiBR and emuLate --> Challengers.
roccat and Alternate --> High seed (and maybe EG for eSTRO... IMO they are on the same level, but I prefer eSTRO)

thought it was based on eswc past placements, but patyojon is right so it might just be random, after their kode 5 showing i think EG will have the confidence they need and make a good run here
