(Paris, France) Having moved their finals for the first time out of France, Game Services decided to organize a separate event in Paris a couple of weeks before the ESWC Finals at the NVision 2008 in San Jose, California.

The ESWC Masters is an invitational event with a $12000 first place, but the teams attending will not just be competing for the money, as the first 3 teams (which have not secured a berth at their national qualifiers) will also take home an auto-berth for the finals in San Jose.

Out of the 20 teams in attendance, 5 of them already have a berth for the ESWC finals (SK Gaming, fnatic, mousesports, Team Alternate, Mibr) and the top 2 teams from the French Qualifiers (taking place just before the Masters) will also secure a berth.

mYm, fnatic, mTw are amongst the top favorite teams to take the title home, but what makes this tournament even more interesting, is the list of high seeds and challengers which could very well create a surprise by upsetting some of the strongest favorites out there: emuLate!, Mousesports, mibr, Alternate, Roccat, EG and more.
