The relegation phase of the European Nations Championship 2008 takes place this Wednesday with Germany meeting Russia and Spain taking on France. There are now two spots up for grabs, which will be decided between the second and third-placed teams of the two groups. The first match will put face to face Germany and Russia. The German squad had to endure the loss of its mousesports player at the beginning of the tournament but still managed to finish in third place in a very tough group. Russia features an explosive line-up and will now try to impress after an indifferent group campaign. The other match will put Spain against France. The Spanish squad has been the surprise package of this season after finishing in second place, defeating the likes of Germany or Norway. After a poor start to its ENC campaign, France managed to qualify for the relegation phase only in the last game, sending Poland out of the tournament.
