The Electronic Sports World Cup has confirmed the seeding distribution for the 2008 Finals. (GotFrag) San Jose, California - The ESWC committee has released the official seeding distribution for the 2008 finals, which are due to take place from August 25th-27th in San Jose, California. The Counter-Strike: 1.6 tournament will have eight groups of five teams, with the winner and the runner-up of each group qualifying for the second group stage. Each group will be composed of one team from each seeding pool and two-three from the challengers pool (depending on the tournament). A group cannot have more than one participant from the same nationality, except if it is the last group being drawn. The seeding distribution has been made according to the teams' results in previous editions of the Electronic Sports World Cup, ESWC Masters of Paris, National Final and other major competitions. The group draw will take place on Monday, the 18th of August, from 15.00 to 18.00 (CET time). about libya :

Take my word, they will leave the server while playing some high seed team. Or they will start buying shotguns against a less known team, and eventually barely winning the match in two OT's.
I would like to see this group: mibr, Alternate, EG, Punto.CL and defs
I would... it's a name... E-DRAMA OMG OMG he's supposed to be mad at something like that ? gimme a break lol pubstar...
Don't get me wrong, I think the seedings are relatively fair. I would expect an event to put extra weight on their own event's results, and X3O won ESWC USA this year and last year. I don't really agree with a few of the other high seeds, but I guess the "top" teams from countries like the UK and Poland get bonus points.

I wouldn't place frag eXecutors in the high pool, hell no. But i woldn't replace them with EG either. As i have already mentioned, they struggled at Masters even despite having far better and more experienced lineup, so why would they be highseeded now because of some achievements of a different team?
I just think x3o is the team that can actually do some damage on the international scene.
Also, they need 2 more Challengers to make the groups balanced, some groups are gonna have 4 and some 5
Beating fnatic and virtus.pro in group play is a fluke?
Scores don't matter; you don't see random ESL amateurs hanging with the big teams.
Sure they lost to SK, but as recent play has shown us, SK isn't washed up (recent wins against fnatic).
If anything, the teams are even, but I don't believe x3o > EG (w/evolution) when EG has a record of 8-2 against their rivals.
x3o put on a good performance @ GameGune; it's hard to judge when both teams have limited recent international activity.
Either way, ESWC will be great to watch.
gl VP!!
Sweden SK Gaming = no brainer
Sweden fnatic = no brainer
Brazil Made in Brazil = no brainer
Denmark mTw = brainer
Germany mousesports = no brainer
Poland PGS.MYM = defending champs should be #1 seed and easiest group
Finland roccat = no brainer
High seeds:
Germany Team Alternate = not better than mouz, keep in high seed
France emuLate = still a world class team, high seed is good
Russia EYESports = NO, should def be a medium seed
Poland Frag eXecutors = fx is better than the american teams
Ukraine pro100 (Virtus.pro) = no brainer
United Kingdom Dignitas = one again, they should be a medium seed
China wNv = should be a top seed
United States x3o = good, they are a high seed and they won usa qualifier and are better than EG atm, doesnt matter what the hell dunn says because EG will get trashed at this tourny
Medium seeds:
China Dragon = should be a HIGH SEED
United States Evil Geniuses = kids shouldn't even be at this tourny, should be lucky they have a medium seed
United States Mafia of Brothers = MOB first BIG INTERNATIONAL event, good thing they got medium
Belgium LowandLions = bad team, but good organization so they dont get challenger
France Millenium = very professional and longtime international team
Canada Motus = eswc probably assumes that teams from canada are still good these days, medium is good
Germany n!faculty = n!fac is not better than attax, good seed
Greece Vatos Locos = will probably pull some upsets
Drop EYEsport and Frag Executioners to medium seeds and bump up MoB and Dragon to High Seeds.
MoB don't deserve to be bumped they haven't won anything internationally...
EYEsports is amazing, as well as Fx who placed well at GameGune
GO ALL China Teams <3 wNv/Dragon
