Counter-Strike: wNv loses sakula for ESWC

Asian side wNv has suffered a major blow just one day before the start of the ESWC competition.

The Chinese team face a difficult task in the ESWC after the draw for the group stage paired it with SK Gaming, Mafia of Brothers and Defining Stars.

But wNv face another problem as it will have to play the ESWC event without one of its players, namely Wu "Sakula" Runbo.

NiceZ.com understands that Runbo is unable to travel to the United States as his passport expires in February 2009, which does not meet the regulation of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that says that every passport must be valid at least six months beyond the dates of a trip.

Runbo's replacement comes in the form of ex-TR.victory member Xiaoyu "xpy" Zhao, who has already joined the rest of the team.

WNv will attend the ESWC with the following team:

China

Bian "alex" Zhengwei
China

Liu "Savage" Bin
China

Luo "K|ng'Z" Likan
China

Hou "bigun" Hao
China

Xiaoyu "xpy" Zhao

Screw the Department of Homeland Security. All they do is provide the US populace with a false sense of security. If someone wanted to commit a terrorist attack in the United States, they could. They aren't preventing anything, they are just inconveniencing the world.

That's extremely sad to know. They are my absolute favorites of this event, and I wish them all luck in the world to still be able to perform well at this ESWC.

xpy is pretty good, so i dont see too much of a dropoff.

xpy played with the TR.victory that tied MYM and has played a lot of good teams close.

now go home and get your fucking shinebox!

I dont see the point in an expiry date if you cant use somthing before it expires. Thats like buying bread and it is mouldy 2 weeks before the expiry date.

This really hurts wNv because i bet they practiced really hard. Its going to hurt their motivation and they are most likely going to have to pug alot of stuff now.

If there is one good thing that came out of this, its that they got a veeeery skilled player in xPy. Perhaps more skilled than sakula is right now (who doesnt look as good as he has in the past). GL wNv, hope you they atleast make it out of Groupstages.

I don't see why you kids are blaming the U.S. completely anyway, you act as if this is the only time a player got screwed by passport issues...guess what it isn't. We have these laws for a reasons and while they may seem stupid and unreasonable some international laws are what they are. Yes wNv is going to have a big problem here but that's why you have extra players in order to compensate for things like this. Stop being stupid and blaming the U.S. because you trolls know nothing but "damn the U.S. stupid American laws" meanwhile he had plenty of time to reissue his passport so at least give him part of the blame.

That is because everyone jumps on the bandwagon for hating the U.S. where they don't even know why they hate the country. It's funny when people hate on America and yet many foreigners come to our country for vacation.

Agree that "xpy" is realy good but will he make dat good co-ordination with other 4 mates like how sakula does ? no absolutely no chance.. Sakula use to dominate..
Seriously USA sucks.. Sakula had parcticed sooooooo hard with other 4 .. they had so proper co-ordination and really good strategies coming up for this ESWC.. now everythingz FCUKd up for them.. Still i hope they do good..:(

#35 many people have not been able to get visas in time or had them denied, but sakula actually has one and its valid, just the US has some stupid law where it has to be valid for 6 months after the time you enter? wtf is the point of that? thats just stupid. If its valid its valid.
