Held at the Palacio Vistalegre Indoor arena in Madrid, the Spanish WCG qualifier took place this Sunday and used only a single-elimination system due to lack of time.

The LAN pre-qualifier that had taken place on Friday and Saturday determined that perpetual-play, OverGame, take.MIX and wNs would be the teams to participate in the main qualifier and join Spain's big guns - x6tence, Ledpc, K1ck and s00n.

The surprise of the tournament came right in the opening round, where perpetual-play proved to be too strong for Ledpc - the main favourite for qualification -, defeating Jonathan "MusambaN1" Torrent's team in overtime.

The mix team s00n - composed of former members of teams such as x6tence or Wizards - also fell at the hands of perpetual-play, who went on to meet x6tence e-Sports Club in the final.

The Grand Final, which was played on de_train, saw x6tence emerge as winner and clinch the berth to the WCG after missing the competition last year.
