Recently GRT Preliminary #3 winners, Evil Geniuses secures the #3 seed and is now ready to take things even more serious. They will bring a slighty different roster this weekend than last season with Bell and Cavallero out of the picture.

Shaun "hostile" Catron is their most recent addition to the team and has proven success rather quickly. Probably one of the best players in North America, Catron will attempt to lead his new team to a championship he knows hes capable of. During the road to finals in the GRT Preliminary, EG had to face MoB from the Lower Bracket after a brutal loss to them in the Upper Bracket. Two maps later, EG overcame MoB from the Lower Bracket and won (16-9;16-10).

They will have to win one more match than X3O if they can secure an Upper Bracket win to advance to the Best of Three final. EG will start off by facing MoB on Saturday who they have beat 3 out of the past 4 times.

Strengths: Another team among others with stable teamwork and quick to adapt with their surroundings. Having a couple players for a short time and already a tournament under their belt is quick progress and winning CEVO would only be icing on the cake.

Weaknesses: EG has sometimes been known to give up quite a few rounds before making a move to eventually win the match. During the season, they gave up quite a few to Ferocity, Complexity, and even Devastation. If they slip up early in the match, it could get out of reach before they know it to pull a comeback.

Prediction: Second. I see them advancing to the Upper Finals and falling to the Lower Final if they face X3O. They could still make a run to a finals match but it will take some dedication to not fall below too quickly.
