Counter-Strike: emuLate says no to EM LA

By: Luis Mira - Published September 30, 2008 at 5:03 PM EDT - Writer Archive
2007 WCG champion emuLate has decided to cancel its participation in the upcoming Extreme Masters LA Global Challenge
This decision comes in the wake of emuLate's embarrassing WCG qualifier campaign, where it crashed out of the tournament at the group stage after losing to aAa and Ubiteam.

Contacted by GotFrag.com, Mathieu "R!Go-" Bridet stressed that this decision was not caused by the early WCG qualifier exit.

"We made this decision before the WCG qualifier, this was not caused by the results, the admin was contacted by e-mail before," Bridet told GotFrag.com.

"This decision was made because of ioRek's school commitments and because I will be moving to another house."

Bridet also noted that emuLate will still attend the Global Challenges taking place in Montreal and Dubai, two events the French team has already signed up for.

Meanwhile, the ESL has confirmed that emuLate's replacement will be unveiled on Wednesday.

A provisional list of teams for Extreme Masters LA looks as follows:

Finland Team Roccat
Poland Meet Your Makers
Sweden fnatic
Sweden SK Gaming
Denmark mTw
Brazil Made in Brazil
United States Evil Geniuses
United States Paragon of Virtue
United States x3o
United States 50 Calibre Gaming
United States Frag Dominant
United States team j1n
United States MugNmouse
United States Team Guardians
United States MoB Gaming
