MiBR's resident AWP expert, Raphael "cogu" Camargo, comments on what is going on with the EM LA upper bracket finalists. ![]() For starters let me congratulate you on making it to the finals. You guys recently came together with this lineup. Can you tell me what is going on with the team, and what you relate your success to? Thanks. This is a new lineup, which brings new motivation to the game. Everyone is playing really well. I wasn't that confident that we would be this prepared, as we only spent five days bootcamping in Sweden as opposed to our usual two weeks. But we are playing really well together. It seems like whenever MiBR has a really successful team, you eventually split up and half move to source. Do you think this lineup will remain together so long as you are successful? I hope so. I think this is a good team. The main problem with keeping the team together is that our manager is also the GM of the Rio Sinistro. So of course he is going to want to send the best squad possible to the big events. Right now the event with the biggest prize for winning is the CGS. So it's only natural for some of us to move over to play for that team. How would you compare Source to 1.6? What is the CS:S scene like in Brazil? CS:Source is completely different. There really aren't any good teams in Brazil, so we have to spend around 2-3 months playing against American teams to get good at it. The US has the best teams in CS:Source. Which version do you prefer? I don't know. It doesn't really matter to me. I like to play with my friends so as long as that is happening I don't care. There are less tournaments for CS:Source, but the prize money for those events is greater. But if you have a great 1.6 team, you can make a lot of money. You have been categorized in a class of the most elite AWPers in the world. How do you think you stack up against the other AWPers who are here? Well I'm not sure about that. I am doing really well except I really hate these monitors. They are really bad for the AWP players. Sometimes I am missing shots that I know I would hit if were on a different monitor. Which team would you prefer to play in the Upper Finals? It doesn't matter. We are ready to roll. What else is on the horizon for MiBR? Well we bootcamped for less than a week in Sweden, then came here. After this event we are heading back to Sweden to practice for ESL Montreal. Then we will head to Germany for WCG. Following that event we will head back to Sweden for more practice, then off to ESL Dubai. Then we will possibly head back to Sweden for some more bootcamping and then Dreamhack. Isn't that schedule hard for you guys? Don't you miss your family and friends? It's sometimes hard for us. I mean when you wake up and see the same faces it can be a little bit hard. But we are professionals. That's all part of trying to be the best. Would you say that practicing in Sweden has been an integral part of your success? For sure. We are really grateful to Inferno Online for setting us up. When we are in Sweden we play the best teams constantly. They have great internet, so you end up practicing against the best teams from all over Europe and it's as if you are on LAN with them.
