Counter-Strike: Extreme Masters Montreal Bracket Melee

By: Luis Mira - Published October 18, 2008 at 2:43 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The knockout stages of Extreme Masters Montreal will now begin with eight teams playing for $25,000 USD.
The second day of competition gets underway with eight Counter-Strike teams in a double-elimination phase.

The first match will present an all-U.S. derby between Evil Geniuses and Gravitas Gaming. EG performed very well at the Los Angeles' event, managing a third-place finish which put it as the best U.S. team at the tournament. EG will now try to replicate its efforts from the last tournament against bitter local rival Gravitas, who has qualified for the World Cyber Games in Cologne next month.

SK Gaming has the chance to continue its remarkable Extreme Masters success story against Evil Geniuses' Canadian squad. EG finished second of its group and is expected to pose little threat to the Swedish giant after getting just two rounds against mibr yesterday.
