Team Alternate began its Extreme Masters campaign with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of local rival n!faculty, a result which certainly did not please the German giant. Alternate has been far from its best form and comes into this game on the back of an embarrassing 16-4 thrashing by TBH.eSports. Despite being very fresh, the new aAa line-up did some damage to Millenium last round and could well upset an Alternate team that is in absolute need of a good result ahead of the WCG event.

Group A will also see Extreme Masters LA champion SK Gaming playing wooSai. The Swedish squad kicked off its bid for European glory by cruising past iNNERFiRE for the opening round. This time things won't be as easy for the Swedish WCG representative as wooSai comes from a 2-1 win over SoA and is one of the teams that has been tipped to upset.

Group B will open with a very intense match between Meet Your Makers and AndThenSome, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow but will be postponed as both teams are currently on their way to Dubai, where they will play the Extreme Masters Global Challenge. MYM enjoyed a dream start to its EM campaign after crushing JustPlay 2-0. As for the Danish side, it surprisingly had a hard time to overcome Dignitas but is, nonetheless, always a team to look out for, something it proved last weekend at SLAP Live.

Group D starts with an interesting match between Ledpc and TBH.eSports. Both teams kicked off their Extreme Masters campaign with a win, and now want to remain top of their group. TBH was the big surprise of week 1 after defeating Swedish team Blank, while Ledpc saw off eXplosive in the opening round.
