Counter-Strike: EG welcomes back evolution

The US Evil Geniuses squad reunites with long time member Scott "evolution" Cavallero.
It has been nearly two months since EG.US traded Scott "evolution" Cavallero for Shaun "hostile" Catron. At that time, Cavallero was taking somewhat of a break from competitive CS, and his trade to MoB marked his official return.

Cavallero stepped down from EG's starting lineup early last August, making way for the addition of Fadil "Nepo" Canovic. Now, almost three months later, EG is replacing Nepo with evolution.

"It's definitely nice to be back with my long time friends, and back playing in a system where I definitely feel more comfortable," says Cavallero. "I think the time off was good and helped realign my goals with that of the team and come in with a more positive attitude."

Team manager Alex Garfield reasoned that the change was the result of the team's roller coaster like performances recently, and not necessarily due to poor contribution on Canovic's part.

"We didn't feel comfortable with the up and down results," said Garfield. "We felt very strongly that we needed to bring back Scott, and unfortunately this meant that we needed to replace someone. I don't think Nepo did anything to deserve giving up his spot - he was playing well, and he was a very strong presence on the team, showing lots of growth since the summer - but he was the odd man out in this situation."

While Cavallero is excited to be back playing with his old team, he does not regret taking time away from the squad. He is optimistic that the time he spent with MoB will only further improve himself and therefore EG.

"I enjoyed my time in MoB," said Cavallero. "I think after playing with a team for almost two years (f2/emg/eg) things can get a little stale sometimes and I think my time in MoB was a nice refresher. I think that the experiences in playing with an entirely new group of players really helped, as it allowed me to work with new people as well as learn a system in which I was really unfamiliar with."

Cavallero's departure from MoB marks the second big name to leave the team since their disappointing showing at the events held at e4all. Last week, Thomas "thoMz" Garcia jumped ship in favor of the new x3o roster. According to Joe Perez, MoB is currently working out their new line up, and it will be announced relatively soon.

With that being said, the current starting lineup for Evil Geniuses' US squad is:

United States Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert
United States Michael "chE" Guevara
United States Nazar "steno" Vynnytsky
United States Shaun "Hostile" Catron
United States Scott "evolution" Cavallero
