Team Alternate and mTw are set for tussle in a group that also features Kazakhstan's k23. This group appears to be a two-team battle between mTw and Alternate for the two spots in the knock-out stages, with k23 attempting to cause an upset here. mTw - who is still in China and will play mousesports tomorrow for the World e-Sports Masters' title - is clearly the favourite to sit top of the group after a campaign in China that has been nothing short of impressive. The Danish squad has been in good form of late after an unsuccessful EM LA tournament and this could well be its opportunity to clinch the WCG gold after finishing runner-up to emuLate last year. Team Alternate has opted to stay away from the main stages since the ESWC Masters - where it placed 5th-8th -, having missed the Extreme Masters Global Challenges. The German giant is currently fifth in the EPS table and although its domestic form has improved since the addition of ex-hoorai member Martin "fleks" Wehrmann, its performances have been far from eye-catching. This tournament will be quite a test for Alternate, who wishes to return to the European top-flight after watching mousesports emerge as the dominant force in Germany. It has been quite some time since k23 cruised to a second-place finish at the World Cyber Games - three years to be precise. The Kazakhstani squad has failed to emulate its impressive 2005 form in Counter-Strike: 1.6; nonetheless, it has been a regular presence in big international events. Last year, k23 finished third in a group that also featured NoA and emuLate and even went as far as to triumph over the French side 16-14. Now, k23's players are once again eager to prove their worth and go beyond the group stage. Croatia's GuerrilaMethod and neWave from Serbia are two European teams that come to this tournament with stand-ins. Therefore, their WCG preparation has been put into doubt and they should only be able to fight to avoid sitting last when Day 1 is concluded. Unfortunately, the WCG group draw did not pair India with Pakistan as it is always enjoyable to watch these two Cricket arch-rivals cross swords in any sport. Team ATE, who finished fourth of its group in Seattle, will be anxious to show sign of progress but should have a hard time to claim points from its games. GotFrag.com's Top 6 prediction: 1. mTw2.
