GamePlay could not have asked for an easier group after being paired with teams that do not have a good record in international competitions. The Finnish squad managed an impressive third-place finish at Extreme Masters Dubai and is a big favourite to reach the late stages of this competition. Anything less than a perfect record in the group stage will come as a shock to GamePlay.

HiNet-UMX seems to be the team with the biggest chances of joining GamePlay in the knock-out phase. Taiwan's representative finished third of its group, behind Meet Your Makers' Norwegian squad and Ultimo, in last year's WCG so this may well turn out to be its best opportunity to go beyond the group stage.

Assassin List, who managed to claim ten rounds against fnatic and five against SK Gaming at Extreme Masters Dubai, looks to be the only team capable of posing some sort of threat to HiNet-UMX for the second spot in the bracket.

In Seattle, SimpleX and the representatives of Pakistan and Malaysia, Wolves and Hybrid respectively, finished rock-bottom of their groups so these three teams should engage in their own little battle to see who comes out on top. Anything more than placing third seems impossible for them.
