mTw's Christoffer "Sunde" Sunde comments on the exciting match against Meet Your Makers, the Semi-finals and a likely spot in the Grand Final. mTw kicked off its WCG campaign with a perfect 5-0 record in a group that featured the likes of Alternate and k23. Now in the bracket, mTw eased past esport-Eu to secure a place in the Quarter-finals, where it had to take on Meet Your Makers, also one of the favourites to lift the WCG trophy. The ex-NoA team would record a 2-0 win over the Polish side, winning 16-2 on de_inferno and 16-9 on de_train. Despite winning by a big margin on both maps, Sunde revealed that beating Meet Your Makers was no walk in the park. "MYM has always been what you could call our nemesis, and playing against them is never easy," he told GotFrag.com. "We were quite sure they would remove inferno (a strong map for us) from the mapcycle, and we were going to remove nuke (probably their best map) so we prepared dust2, train and tuscan for this match. "To our advantage they did not remove inferno and we got our CT game flowing, winning the match for us. We managed to take our momentum to our T-side on train and got 10 terrorist rounds. Everyone stepped up their game when they had to, and so we won a lot of clutch rounds --> game over." mTw is now waiting for the winner of match between Gravitas Gaming and Norway, with Sunde admitting that he would prefer meeting the latter. "I think we'd prefer to play the Norwegians, since we have a good feeling about their game, also they haven't been playing a lot for a long time," he noted. "Nevertheless, I think our upcoming match will be a little bit less intense than the one we just played against MYM - not taking anything for granted here." ![]() Should mTw win the next match then the Danish team is through to the Grand Final for the second year in a row. Sunde conceded that his team is ready for any challenge. "Honestly I can say that we don't fear any team as things are at the moment, though I think we would prefer playing either SK or Gameplay in the final, if we make it that far. "e-STRO is more unpredictable since we never play much against Asian teams, same goes for the U.S. team." The Danish side has yet to lose a map after seven games in Cologne. On mTw's impressive form, Sunde said: "Obviously I recognize we're playing well. Our team has, in my opinion, two big strengths: First, we have the teamplay and tactics that take us really far, and we can rely on that when our aim isn't doing it for us. "Second, we have five great players who all can turn around down-sided situations in a matter of seconds. I think we got both things going for us right now." Big player.
mTw vs eSTRO finals.
2nd : mTw
3rd : eSTRO
4th : Norway
You may win 16-2, but 80% of the rounds can all come down to 2v2s, 1v2s and 1v1s. That in turn affects how tight money is if each round is really close. They may have won some close rounds without head armor or with a famas or two; who knows.
"MYM wasn't easy" 16-9/16-2
Get your facts straight or stop being biased... It's not that I'm French and two guys I know pretty well play on esport-Eu that I say that, I would have said that for any match, but these quotes and the general article seems too biased toward MYM and intentionally decreasing the merit of eE. The eE match was clearly (well they get twice as many rounds as MYM vs mTw no?) tighter than the MYM match, based on score. Even if the score doesn't reflect 100% of the match, it still is what matters in the end so I find this whole article strange.
on T side of both maps mtw won like 5 3 v 5s, 2 2 v 4s, and countless more huge rounds
on ct side, it kept coming down to 1 v 1 and 1 v 2s
Gotfrag didn't say "MYM wasn't easy". MTW did.
