The first week, to be played on de_inferno, begins on Monday at 20.00 with lanklan taking on Playzone.

The former EvilZone squad has been in good form of late and comes into this game on the back of a 2-0 win over Amazing Gaming for the Extreme Masters league. Playzone managed to claim one map in its previous encounter with lanklan and is now hoping to start its EPS campaign with the three points.

EPS Scandinavia resumes on Tuesday with a Finnish derby between GamePlay and HaHa. The ex-roccat team crashed out of WCG 2008 at the Quarter-finals courtesy of SK Gaming and is now aiming for an improved performance against Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen's mix team, who managed to beat AndThenSome in the local EPS qualifier.

Fnatic welcomes cbteam in the opening round of EPS Scandinavia. The Swedish side has been far from impressive lately and is on the verge of waving goodbye to the top two places in Extreme Masters. Cbteam, on the other hand, managed a fourth-place finish at the WCG event but things won't be as easy here as they were in Cologne as the Norwegian WCG representative will take on a team that is desperate to make a return to form.

The opening week will also present a mouth-watering clash between SK Gaming and AndThenSome. The Swedish giant finished the WCG event runner-up to mTw but with Marcus "zet" Sundström finally riding high on form, the team has good chances to mount a serious EPS challenge. However, AndThenSome's chances may not be written off as the Danish team has already proved to have what it takes to upset some big names, having defeated Meet Your Makers for Extreme Masters.
