Counter-Strike: KIKOOOO: "changes will probably happen"

Made in Brazil coach Carlos “KIKOOOO“ Segal has hinted that roster changes could happen in the team.
The 2006 ESWC champion had flown to Sweden under a huge amount pressure following Paulo Velloso's comments in which he stressed the urge for roster changes in case of a disappointing campaign at DreamHack WGT.

Made in Brazil was hoping to defend its Winter WGT title but the team's fans soon questioned whether this team was actually able to get back to winning ways after a series of mixed results.

The Brazilian team kicked off its campaign with close wins over k1ck eSports Club and ESC Gaming but went on to pull off an amazing 16-2 victory over mousesports to secure passage into the quarter-finals on top of Group D.

In the knockout stages, mibr tackled Meet Your Makers, whom it was hoping to get back at following an early WCG exit. But despite winning the first map, MYM came from behind to win the match 2-1 and stay in the competition, leaving mibr in despair.

Segal did not hide his disappointment to see the team being eliminated this early in the tournament and added that it was caused by tactical errors.

"We did not lose because of lack of skills or lack of will," he told GotFrag.com. "Our main problem was tactical-wise. Ever since the first day. Against k1ck as T on de_inferno, our tactics were not what we had decided. We were winning 6-0 and we ended up losing 7-8.

"In the second match against ESC Gaming, we played well as CT but as T we did not use some tactics we should have. We made several mistakes but managed to win 16-14. I argued with them before the game against mousesports and maybe that woke them up, they played very well as CT. They could have won 15-0 but they made mistakes in two rounds and ended up making it 13-2.

"I was told by the team (because I am in Brazil) that in the knockout stages each team had to remove one map. We decided to remove de_nuke and I only created tactics for the other three maps.

"Early today, they told me teams would not remove maps. We picked de_dust2 and played well, winning 16-10 despite losing an eco as CT. On de_nuke, I knew we were going to lose but not by such a huge margin. That is our worst map and the one we practiced the least. As T we could have insisted on certain tactics that were working but I was not there with them.

"Before the game on de_train, we had a problem and arguments between some players happened. Once again I could not do anything and I left it in their hands. They made a mistake in the pistol round as CT, which is basically three rounds, then made a mistake in a round that was almost won, having to make two ecos, they made a mistake in another round and then lost the last one when in advantage.

"If you take that into account, it was four rounds just as CT that they either made mistakes or gave away rounds that were already won.

"In my eyes they should be congratulated but they always make mistakes. Unfortunately they lost a game that was almost won and with that the chance to go to the semi-finals."

On the possibility of Made in Brazil undergo roster changes, Segal noted: "Probably. I think we will now go on vacation and start making plans for 2009.

"With poor results, changes are always welcome. They have played like seven tournaments, practiced in Sweden but failed to live up to the organisation's expectations."

Made in Brazil captain Renato “nak” Nakano had stated earlier this week that he did not believe any other Brazilian player could join the team and be successful, something Segal does not agree on.

"I am sure they are all in the top 10 in Brazil, but there are many players that have never had the chance to grow and there are always those war veterans that have already played for mibr and have potential," he stated.

"Even if I agreed with nak, it has been proved that the best not always win. Playing seven tournaments and failing to win a single one with major teams in attendance, there is something wrong! We will examine what happened and improve for 2009!"
