KODE5 has announced that it will hold an event for teams from eleven Latin American countries.
Held in association with ProGamer Consultores SAC, KODE5 Latin America will be the "largest tournament of its kind" in the region as it will cover a total of eleven countries.

Seven regional qualifiers will take place across South America, while just one will be held in North American, more specifically in Mexico.

KODE5 Latin America qualifying action kicks off on January 24th in Argentina and Peru and will end on March 8th in Venezuela.

The winner of each qualifier will then progress to the Latin American Regional Final, taking place from March 18th-21st in Lima, Peru, where it will be joined by an invited representative from Uruguay, Ecuador and Panama.

The big surprise is that Brazil has been left out of the list for KODE5 Latin America. However, GotFrag.com understands that this is because the country will have its own independent KODE5 stop.

"South America is home to some of the strongest gaming teams, and there’s no better partner than ProGamer Consultores SAC to realize the vision of KODE5 South America," said Lester Lau, KODE5 Revolutionary-in-Command.

"KODE5 South America represents the largest ever competitive gaming tour in the region and we are proud to work with ProGamer Consultores SAC to open it to the gaming community."

The KODE5 event schedule for the 2008/09 season is so far the following:

KODE5 France - France emuLate
KODE5 Australia
KODE5 Serbia - March 1st
KODE5 Latin America - March 18th-21st
