Counter-Strike: ESC Gaming loses trio

By: Luis Mira - Published December 18, 2008 at 6:29 PM EST - Writer Archive
ESC Gaming trio Christopher "MYS" Seidemann, Michael "rabble" Hase and Lucas "festral" Karl have quit the squad.
The German team qualified for EPS XIV last weekend after defeating NgP Gaming in the Semi-finals of the relegation tournament.

ESC Gaming has now confirmed the departure of three players - Christopher "MYS" Seidemann, Michael "rabble" Hase and Lucas "festral" Karl - as it attempts to build a strong squad, capable of avoiding the drop in the EPS league.

"It was clear to all of us, even before we attended dreamhack, that rabble and festral would stop playing CS after this season," Christoph "loomit" Normann told GotFrag.com.

"When we came home last weekend we started to discuss further plans for 2009 and we came to the conclusion that we had to change the whole team.

"We felt that it would be best to replace MYS to advance and go on next year."

Meanwhile, ESC Gaming has announced the addition of former NgP Gaming member Lucas "recki" Reckermann - who represented the team at DreamHack Winter.

"We watched him when he was with NgP at our bootcamp center," Normann noted. "When we were in need of a substitute for DreamHack he went with us and did a really good job so it was a natural step."

Normann acknowledges it will be hard for the team to mount a serious challenge for the EPS title in ESC Gaming's first season but is confident things will improve in the following seasons.

"We want to play a good season with some good results to secure our spot in the league but for the second season the main goal would be to reach the finals."

ESC Gaming has now the following team:

Germany Christoph "loomit" Normann
Germany Dominik "d0m AZ" Wrabetz
Germany Lucas "recki" Reckermann
