Counter-Strike: e-STRO signs with Wemade FOX

The top Korean CS team moves on to a new organization.

Following a solid year of finishes, the e-STRO CS squad has signed a new deal with the organization Wemade FOX.

An organization primarily known for their dealings in Starcraft, Wemade FOX is branching out, and has now acquired the top CS team in the country.

With a third place at WCG 2008, as well as a second place at ESWC 2008, Wemade FOX will look for their new CS team to provide further success, especially with the EM III Continental Finals Asia right around the corner.

Details of the deal have not been disclosed.

Nice pickup, but I wonder why eSTRO dropped their CS team? Their StarCraft team is doing okay in the leagues, but eSTRO is the best Asian CS team. WeMade FOX is pretty rich since they're a game company and the former eSTRO CS players will probably get an increased salary.

because running a cs team costs nothing in comparison with a sc team so adding the former estro team was an easy and non-risky move for a rich organisation like wemade

For a long time e-stro & wemadeFox had the worst SC teams, for those who don't follow the scene. However recently they've been showing signs of improvement, but yeah, definatly wemadFox has the better SC team with Mind & Nada etc. Not sure if they're really richer than e-stro tho.

they are most likly getting payd more, and being able to attend more comps / bootcamp coz the corp has more money, so they don't really care aobut the name..

Yeah since the only bootcamp they had was pretty much living in the same apartment together. Now they can travel to Europe and practice against the top European teams.

#23 didn't they attend every international event? I don't think it's just the traveling that was the problem.

#17 I think they are judging from their homes. WeMade looks more professional while eSTRO has a more home-y look. Funny how eSTRO improved in ProLeague when Daniel Lee left. Beside WeMade is a video game company aren't they? So they should have more money.

estro only attended like 2-3 major tournaments this year.

this is pathetic. kids who have no knowledge of the korean language are expressing their impressions about the name wemade fox.

wemade means to embrace in korean, and FOX is the abbreviation for famdi och xeun which means the e-sport community. so how is that not a cool title for a cs clan?
