Counter-Strike: Five at KODE5 with Hostile

After demolishing the upper bracket, Hostile sits down with GotFrag to share some thoughts.

GotFrag.com - You and your team just stormed through upper brackets , convincingly beating two teams which defeated the two other top teams at the event (Pandemic > X3o, FD > EG). How does this make you feel? Do you believe this is a bit more representative of you guys as a team?

Well it definitely shows that what we’ve been working on is the right thing. The losses in Germany really motivated everybody to step it up as a team and fix our problems. We feel great about where we are in the tournament , but we haven’t done anything yet and only look to close this out with a win.

What did the team tweak and work on over the short break between EM and this KODE5 USA Final?

We extensively watched all our demos from Germany because that was our first real test as a team of where we stand. We all feel some of those matches could have gone our way if we were more prepared, so that’s what we did. Just worked on all our team aspects, communicating, helping each other just typical teamwork stuff.

Can you spot the Hostile?
What was your favorite match of the day, either yours or some other teams?

Had to be playing Pandemic, I’ve known that bunch for almost 5 years now and always have been good friends with them. It’s always fun getting to play against your friends at these tournaments and have a little trash talking battle in between :P

Although the US teams didn’t fare so well in Europe, do you feel that helped you guys out?

Without a doubt, there’s no better help than losing and seeing your mistakes, and what could have been done differently to finish off some of the rounds we blew.

Who would win in a 1v1 aim_map at the QPad booth between all he managers?

Hmmmm that’s a tough one, I’d give it to Dolven because he plays wow and yeah that’s about all I have there.
